I LOVE EVERY SONG THOUGH & i look up to her alot because as much as she went through .. shes still here today & still selling & MAKING AMAZING MUSIC!!!

They said 320-350k. Not what you have there. She only sold around 120k in her first day. The album is going to bomb though. I don't see longevity in it, nor is it radio friendly.

Blackout is seriously bland, dated, and headache inducing. I could barely get through it. I don't know what other people are listening to but it's totally generic and forgettable. It's like she wasn't even in the studio.

nor is it radio friendly

Yes, i think BLACK is absolutely fabulous, but i agree the songs are hot but not radio ready.

Isnt that odd? An artist can have a solid album yet the songs dont fit on radio.

Club yes but they wont take off on radio. I guess because its dance music which isnt mainstream.

Look at Confessions on a Dancefloor which is a mini classic in my opinion but it got hardly any airplay.

Gimme More is hot too but its sinking.

But you know Britney really only has one billboard 100 number 1 so its not like getting radio play matters because people still love and buy the music.

Efff radio anyways, what do they know LOL

And if you think radio is the end all and be all of music you have no idea how much quality music you would be missing out, i have been finding out that the really good stuff gets no play.

Billboard magazine has weighed in on the album.

And it's not good.

They go on to describe Spears' new set as "Bleak" and "Like a bad drunk":

There's an appropriate bleakness to Britney Spears' first album in four years, and her first as a tabloid figure rather than a vibrant teen idol. The hazy-eyed bump-and-grind of her "Gimme More" MTV Video Music Awards performance fits all this material: It's defiant like a bad drunk, uncomfortably oversexed and more at home in a seedy after-hours club than a celebrity ultra-lounge. The music ranges from shockingly minimal—"Piece of Me" and "Radar" have the synth fugues and smudgy bass of current underground electro and little else—to novelty pop, like the J.J. Fad-styling of "Freakshow" and Gwen Stefani-ripping snare march of "Toy Soldier." Spears is threatening or seducing, or both, on every track. This is still pop, but the last bits of Spears' song-and-dance girl veneer are cracking, along with the rest of her public persona. —Kerri Mason

Britney is so awesome.

I just came from a website showing how many fans she has in Brazil, the lines stretched around the block for the CD (!)

They showed pictures of the store shelf showing that only 7 copies of the Cd were left.

I wonder if Britney knows how many people all over the world care about her and love her music.

Hey in the song "Get Naked" dose she say "I'm as crazy as
fucking bat" Or was that just my imagination ? lol would be awesome if im right, best song yet rofl

............My idea of helping out the Mighty 93 was to show up with a super-hot CD for volunteers Joe Reilly, who's a teacher by day and occasional music publicist, and Dave Alburger, a software developer and bassist, to give away on their Monday evening program. The title I chose? Britney Spears' Blackout, sure to be highly coveted, I surmised, because it was not due to arrive in stores until Tuesday.

Well, guess what? No one bit the hook. Not a soul. It seems the listeners of CKCU-FM expect a lot more than the throbbing moan of a pop star desperate to make a comeback........

Britney needs our help picking the next single, go vote here

If Piece of Me wins i have an awesome idea for part of the video.

You know how Britney says, "I'm miss American Queen since i was 17."

Well how awesome would it be for Jamie-Lynn to play Britney at 17 (!).

They look so much alike itd be very cool.

Well how awesome would it be for Jamie-Lynn to play Britney at 17<<<<<

THAT WOULD BE HOT!

i hope PIECE OF ME wins
i mean I LOVEEEE!! break the ice but

theres so many directions she can go for piece of me

Well more could have been done with the Gimme More video so i guess we just have to hope for the best if Piece of Me wins.

I was supried by how much I like the album, but I'd have to say some of my favorite songs did not make it onto the album.
From the album I like:
Gimme More
Piece of Me
Break the Ice
Heaven on Earth
Toy Soldier
Hot as Ice
Ooh Ooh Baby
Non album songs:
Everybody
Fed Up
Come and Get Me
Outta of This World
State of Grace
Kiss Me All Over
The other songs are on youtube, so far I have 26 songs from Blackout on my ipod.

GOD DAMN I LOVE THIS ALBUM.. the release of the album was October 27 here in Australia and as soon as I heard it was out earlier than the American release I had to go buy it!!!!!

I LOVE ALL HER SONGS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! OHHHHHHHHH ITS BEEN ON REPEAT EVER SINCE I BOUGHT IT LOL...

I'm a Britney Spears fan all the way!

Hey Danugh, are you on UKMIX forums?

ANYWAY, I got the album and really like it. Obsessed with Radar, Break The Ice, Gimme More, Hot As Ice, Ooh Ooh Baby, and Piece of Me. It's true Britney's voice isn't powerful at all, but she carry a note in the studio. That said, this is good dance music. It won't win a Grammy, but doesn't need to. Britney delivered with the dance music.

I really like this album it's a lot more cohesive in terms of musical style. Which lacked on her last effort, In the Zone. The reviews from critics have been generally positive which really has shocked me.

"Break the Ice" is very single-worthy, in fact it probably would have made a better first single. This song is highly infectious, extremely radio friendly, and she sounds good on this track. Her girlish alto and soprano vocals work really well here. This track is the "Toxic" of Blackout, in the sense it will be received really well.

"Piece of Me" is too reminiscent of "Overprotected"/"My Prerogative." I'm tired of this theme from her, this need to assert her independence and kiss off anyone who dares question her. Been there, done that, move on Brit-Brit.

It's a shame that "Outta this World" or "Love is (State of Grace)" didn't make the final cut. Those were my early favorites.

So, I decided to actually listen to the cd. I was a huge Britney fan but her recent actions have left me a little bitter.

And I was surprised because I actually like some of the songs. 'Gimme More' is my favorite off the album. 'Hot As Ice' is good and 'Heaven On Earth' was quite enjoyable.

But the entire album is so heavily synthesized, you don't actually hear Britney's voice. And a lot of the songs sound really close to each other. It's like you are listening to one album of 2 or 3 different songs.

Britneys new album, Blackout, is to me her best yet. Every song is good. Most of them can be remixed and played at the clubs. I love how she references her life in most of the songs. She knows what shes doing. Her and record company picked the right songs. She has writing credit for one song, Freakshow. Keri Hilson did a fair share of wrting on the album too. T-pain helped write How As Ice, a def stand out song! The only thing I dont like is there are NO thank you's by Britney in the booklet. But I recently seen more and more artist stop doing this especially when they've made soo many records. You can only thank the same people so many times. And she knows her fans love her and she shows them the love in return!

Stand out tracks:
-Piece Of Me (crying for a video)
-Radar
-Break The Ice
-Heaven On Earth
-Freakshow
-TOY SOLDIER!!!! (NEEDS TO BE A VIDEO)

Only song I really am not feeling is Get Naked (I Got A Plan) BUT I have a feeling it will do well in the clubs.

Anyone else like it alot?

LOL i am happy you feel that way and the news i am about to share will surely make you feel good too.

Blackout was indeed the best pop album released that year.

Here is the good news.

I just found out that Jive has submitted Blackout for album of the year at next years Grammys.

They also submitted Gimme More for song and record of the year.

But here is the unbelievable bad news. I am so pissed, its so ridiculous i do not know what Jive was thinking but they did not submit Gimme More for Best Dance Recording.

Dance Recording was her best shot at a Grammy and they took it away from her. Granted she would have stiff competion from Disturbia and i ofcourse would be torn if both of them were in the same category but either way one of my girls would have won.

Album of the year usually has a slot for each genre of music so Blackout can fill the pop slot.
