Blondie albums

Which is your favorite Blondie album? Mine is Plastic Letters for Detroit 442 and Youth Nabbed As Sniper. Next comes Blondie as I like the whole album, then Eat To The Beat. The two newer albums I don't play as much, but I like Screaming Skin, Maria, Under The Gun (Live), Double Take, and Rules For Living.

Tell me about your Blondie love.

Re: Blondie albums

For me it doesn't get any better than Paralell Lines. One Way or Another, Picture This, Fade Away and Radiate, 11:59, Sunday Girl, I'm Gonna Love You Too, Just Go Away...Love. So much love.

Second place goes to their self-titled album, because you gotta give props to X Offender.

I sang X Offender drunk in a jail cell! There was a two way speaker in the cell and luckily the cop listening found it funny.

Re: Blondie albums

I just go to my "Blondie: Greatest Hits" CD from 2002. Nineteen awesome cuts. My favories on it are "Dreaming", "Heart of Glass" "The Tide is High", "Rapture", "Atomic", and "Maria".

Re: "Atomic" Blondie

one of my favorite blondie songs as well.

Re: "Atomic" Blondie

It's one of my favorite Blondie videos. Debbie in a trash bag. I love the freaky dance they do during the bass solo.

Re: "Atomic" Blondie

Blondie songs never get old. Especially this one:

Re: "Atomic" Blondie

Gotta admit, if it wasn't for GTA:Vice City i probably wouldn't have heard the song but it was one of my favorites on the soundtrack(which was AWESOME btw)

Re: "Atomic" Blondie

I've listened to "Eat to the Beat" more than any other album I own. "Atomic" is just one of the many incredible tracks.

I don't think they ever got the respect as artists and musicians that they deserved. Debbie Harry has a great voice, Chris Stein is an amazing guitarist with the "solo in the can", Jimmy Destri wrote some great songs for the band - and Clem Burke is a mother fucker on the drums.

Holy cow! I haven't seen this video since it first came out and that dance! I used to dance like after I saw this video way back when. This is definitely one of their best songs if not THE best. Her vocals were at their peak with "Atomic." "Die Young, Stay Pretty" is also a favorite and "Hangin' on the Telephone."

Re: "Atomic" Blondie

I love Blondie, but I've never liked "Atomic" at all. I do love the "groove" of the song. But the opening sounds tentative. The lyrics sound like placeholders, like they jotted down some dummy lyrics and didn't get around to writing better ones. And the song overstays its welcome - I'm always tired of it by time she gets to the ending "oo, oo, atomic" repeats.

I'm apparently alone in this assessment, though. :)

"Your hair is beautiful tonight" That's a great lyric.

"I will give you my finest hour. The one I spent watching you shower." Even better.

They have so many songs I like, so my list of favorites keeps changing. Detroit 442 and Union City Blue are always in the top five, though. I like the intro she does for Die Young Stay Pretty live on Eat To The Beat. "We'd like to congratulate all of you who made it from the 1970's to 1980. But for those of you who didn't make it...Die Young Stay Pretty.
