Cate Blanchett will hopefully be nominated for Best Actress.

Notwithstanding that I am not a huge fan of Woody Allen, I'll watch anything with Cate Blanchett.

I saw her years ago playing Blanche Dubois at Sydney Theatre and that was just beyond spectacular!

Throw in the wonderfully talented, and utterly under-appreciated Sally Hawkins into this movie and I am there!!

I will definitely go and see this one. Cate Blanchett is one of a kind. So lovely and an amazing actress.

the scene between her character and her two nephews was amazing! hand her the Oscar ... now!

Just watching the trailer again - I realised it is a bit similar to Streetcar - older sister, used to a bigger better life loses all and moves in with younger sister and brother-in-law. Hmmm.

And, Cate really should have got the Oscar waaay back in 1998 for Elizabeth.

"Blue Jasmine expanded to 116 locations and earned $2.35 million this weekend. That translates to a fantastic $19,709 per-theater average, which is higher than Midnight in Paris's third weekend average (though Midnight was playing at more locations). Blue Jasmine will expand again this coming weekend before going nationwide on August 23rd."

I did not like Midnight in Paris at all, not even with Tom Hiddleston in it playing F. Scott Fitzgerald!

that's impressive, given how the movie is ultimately depressing for a Woody Allen film, don't get me wrong, it's excellent and Cate's acting is phenomenal, but it's not a feel good movie (by a long stretch).
