Funnily enough, I'm actually kind of the opposite of your old boyfriend. When I hit puberty at about 13 and decided to try jerking off, I immediately went to the medicine cabinet when my parents were out and got the Vaseline. I had heard all the other guys at school talking about Vaseline, so I figured that was just a requirement for masturbation.
