This is embarassing, but does anyone know how to get rid of body acne? I get acne everywhere but the face. It's mostly on my upperarms/shoulders, back, and upper legs. I get minor ones on my chest, and minor ones on my face. I would buy Proactiv or something like that, but considering that my whole body is practically a giant pimple, I would run out of product in like two days. I have scarring from where I pop them (yes, I know, bad Linxus...it's just I can't stop...I know it makes things worse, but it's like a self-destructive behavior I have been doing for years now). I don't want to even look for a relationship because I'm so self-conscious that if I find someone and it progresses to the point of sex, what they will think of my body. Does anyone know of a relatively cheap regimen?

Because this condition is not isolated and appears all over the body, an external application is probably not practical or a successful way to treat this. You need to see a doctor, who may treat the condition with some type of medication that will help rid you of the problem entirely. The problem may also have something to do with your diet and some foods you are eating. The doctor may also refer you to a dermatologist who is a specialist in dealing with skin problems. Attempting to treat the condition yourself is not going to prove very helpful. If you really want to get this under control, the doctor is your best bet.

how long do you have it?
if it only appeared recently .. were you on holidays somewhere? outside sun bathing using sunlotion swimming in the sea etc?

Nah, it has been years of having it. I'd say when I hit 14 or so... I know acne is a genetical problem in my family, but my siblings and my mom only get it in the facial area. I think I may go to a doctor, I just hate going to the hospital, lol. I've been debating for a while to see a doctor, but I figured I'd see if a topical solution was around.

Neutrogena has a body wash, which I use, specifically for acne. There's also a product called Nature's Cure that has a formula for facial acne and another formula for body acne. I've never tried the one for the body, but I've used the one for the face for years, and it's the best thing I've EVER used (including Proactiv). A friend of mine started using it, and she swears by it now, too. So I would imagine the body formula would be just as good.

Looking at your profile, it appears that you also need to check or have your blood sugar checked. If it is high, there is a greater likelihood of acne on the skin. Cutting out sugar and starch will help, also.

then definitely go to a dermatologist. things can be done to at least weaken the acne. you won't need to stay in a hospital ;)

H20 plus has this face/body wash for acne, acne clarifying cleanser. I use it to clear my back. It is not too drying because it contains moisture binding agents or you can always use some form of Retin A body lotions which works great. Pro Active ages you because of all the Benzoyl Peroxide.
