I don't agree with the Dolce & Gabbana ban. So what if they used a Chimp in an advert. Did they rape the chimp? Did they beat him or harm him in the commercial? Oh and did I forget to mention that.. ITS A FUCKIN CHIMP!!!!! Not a 3 yr old or a 10 yr old in leather and a leash on all fours. That would be a good reason to ban a company.
The rest of the bans are based on pretty good reasons.

Oh my!!!

I have to stop reading labels from now on - that means I won't know who they come from! LOL. :gogirl:

I don't go to WalMart, Sam's Club, ExxonMobil, or Nike. I don't care how much of a difference it makes. I will not shop at these companies whether it makes a difference or not. I think that principles should and for something. If I really believe in something, then I act upon it. To me, actions speak louder than words. Indifference and apathy suck!

I have seen boycotts make a difference. To say that they can't make a difference is not true. I have seen corporations change policies because of boycotts. It is a way to get companies to listen to consumers.

I still remember seeing the story of workers being hit in the head with shoes if they were made wrong and the corporation's response was one of indifference. I just can't buy Nike's anymore because of it. When ever I see the logo, it is the first thing that I think about.

I look at ExxonMobil and see a company that removed the same sex couple benefits when they merged. A company that does not do r & d on working to make their product more environmentally responsible. A company that only cares about the bottom line and nothing else.

And then WalMart...gesh...the list is so long. Teaching US companies to move to China to make the products cheaper. Forcing wages in third world countries down. Using government programs so that they do not have to pay their workers fairly or provide proper health benefits. The primary owners focus on non-profits is on organizations that push for hoarding wealth of the wealthy. etc...etc...etc. I don't care if it costs me more to shop at other places. I would rather pay more....and I'm sure that I probably do.

I dont' buy products from companies that I hate.

Walmart, Exxon, McCain (in Canada)...

Music by anyone who's worked with a Rap artist...

I know it does no good, but I still have to look at myself in the mirror every morning.

Iams (owned by Procter & Gamble)
for unnecessary animal testing. It is estimated Procter & Gambles is responsible for the deaths of 50,000 animals each year.
I plan on boycotting Iams for an entirely different reason:

When I was a child, my mother taught me to eat with my mouth closed. Why, then, should I be subjected to Iams commercials on television showing dogs chomping away on their food, with half-chewed food in their mouths? Nauseating, I tell you!!

yeah thats a lot, too much scrutinity,i believe that every brand, company, country has their own pro's & con's. If I follow u then ill better suicide hahah

Boycott, be damned...
I'm drinking Bacardi RIGHT NOW!

And I'm ready for a refill...

Boycotting can make a differance. However I believe before one boycotts they should have all the facts. A few snippits of information here and there can paint a picture that does not exist. I am not speaking of anything on the above list, just be sure that the reason you boycott and the reason you get others to do the same are valid reasons.

I don't like bird shit in my martini so I boycott.

Add Domino's Pizza to the list because they're anti-gay.
Plus I think the Left needs a more balanced stance on Israel.
In Israel, interaction generally flourishes. We need more Israels not fewer.
I said 'balanced', not everything their way.

Maybe some of our Aussie members can confirm this, but I've heard that kangaroos are considered a pest in Australia as are rabbits in the UK and pigeons in the US.
Kangaroos are not really a pest, but are common like deer in North America. How ever some species of kangaroo are very common ( i.e Grey kangaroos) and some are very rare and endangered. The numbers of Greys and Red kangaroos have probably increased since European settlement due to improved pastures and increased water supplies. This is offset by decreases of other species due to destruction of native habitat and feral carnivours that were also introduced!
