Do you wear jewellery?
618 × 702
I do.

I wear a watch, a dainty gold pendant and a gold signet ring set with a chrysoprase on the little finger of my left hand. Nothing clunky or brazen; it's fairly subtle and tasteful, I think.

Do you wear jewellery? What do you have in your possession; if not on your person? Do you have a favourite piece? A favourite gemstone? Do you prefer one kind of precious metal over another or do you mix things up?

Just a watch. It is for practical purposes. I don't have to pull out the cell phone for the time.

I have stuff, but I never wear any of it.

I'm way too physically active to be dealing with snaggers. LOL

I have a nice gold wrist watch I wear out.

Many years ago I used to wear a thin gold chain necklace on Saturday nights, but not anymore for years. I do have a nice gold ring with a star sapphire, but have rarely worn it and don't know if it fits anymore.

I wear a one carat diamond ring, a ruby and diamond ring, a topaz ring, and an 18kt gold bracelet. I do not wear them all at the same time however.

No. However I have a number of handsome wristwatches, generally from the forties and fifties, some stainless steel, some solid gold, all of them with leather wristbands. None of them was particularly expensive. I find them much more distinctive and stylish than the stainless-steel diver watches I see most men wearing.

I have several wristwatches. I got out of the habit of wearing them during the Covid-19 lockdowns and they're now gathering dust in a drawer. Other than that, I have no jewellery.

I love to watch the jewelry appraisals by Geoffrey Munn on the UK Antiques Roadshow, but it's more fascination than desire.

Love jewelry, but I put my money on other things, and don't enjoy wearing watches any more, as I tend to fiddle with them, and worry if they get a scratch.

Most men I have known who wore jewelry here wore bad choices, gold nuggets, conspicous consumption, rather than beautiful or well designed items. A lot came off looking like some East Coast wannabe mafiosos.

We're still dealing as a society with a lot of homophobia in America that makes jewelry for women a norm, and if adopted by men, suspect.

^ I find the opposite to be true - I think straight men are much more likely to wear jewelry and cologne -

observations:

"young" guys are likely to wear high school/college class rings - married men wear bands - rough around the edges guys wear a lot of sterling jewelry like skull rings and such - the nouveau riche wear over the top "cocktail" rings - black men wear "bling" (heavy gold chains) which I think looks sexy - it's a good look - jocks wear awards rings and rugged sports watches - Italian men tend to wear lots of jewelry (rings - chains - bracelets) - new age men wear crystals and gemstones -

I have a ton of quality good jewelry in which I showered my deceased partner with (I am so glad I spoiled him) - I never wear any of it - I don't really fancy selling it - in my mind I think it's a bank account for old age if things get ugly - usually when the price of living is backbreaking for some odd reason the price of precious metals soar...

I did when I was young but haven't for about 30 years now.

Too much bother.

I used to have an earring in my left ear in the 80's when it was cool.

The men where I lived tended to not wear splashy jewelry, but we had plenty of transplants in the industrial park who were from the Northeast. They were regarded a bit like gamblers at the Country Club, as a bit loutish, and noveau riche.

From the outside, the impression of Florida is that it differs from much of the South in that it has so many imports from the Northeast, including many more Jewish people than any other area outside NY or CA. And the prevalence of Jewish lapidaries and jewelry traders is true, so, those factors would stand to reason that Florida would see more ostentation displays, like Vegas has, of money.

I wear a stainless steel chain with a cross of the same material, also a ss bracelet. My wedding ring is a plain white 14k. I really like nice watches and have a few but got out of the habit of wearing them when I started to carry a smart phone.

Only the family ones.

Bling is such a big no-no [-X :vomit:

Wristwatches are acceptable only as an eccentricity if produced before 1939 (or imitating that style) and worn with the right 'vintagist' fashion...

I have a wedding band with stars on it I got for 10.00 from Wayfair (back when they sold jewelry) just because I was looking for something with stars I also have a stainless steel (looks like white gold) and lab created sapphire ring bought it for $60.00 and never wear any of them
