Haha so my sister texted me today that she lost her front tooth while eating some rice from Panda Express (One of the grains was still hard). I told her to go back and have them write down an incident report, but what should she do after in regards to having them fix this situation? Any help would be awesome :D

Wow. Unless her tooth was already loose to begin with, I can hardly believe this. I've eaten raw rice before with no problem - it is tough, true, but nothing to the effect of losing a tooth. Unless your sister is 8 years old or younger.

Nah, she's 32...I should ask her about that though...hmm haha

Asked...She said there was a filling in it :/

I doubt they are responsible, she should see her dentist asap. Its not like she bit down on a piece of ceramic or glass or maybe even bone (from some type of meat prepared in the same area).

Panda express: the bastard offspring of Chinese food. *barf*

About five years ago I broke a tooth on a Johnsonville brat. I saved the piece that broke off and called them immediately. Most companies have insurance for these situations. They paid 1400 dollars to get my tooth fixed. She has nothing to lose by asking.

oy, this worries me and makes me crave panda at the same time. My two front teeth are already broken and half fake anyway, so I guess I have nothing much to worry about though hahaha.

I think she should ask, and see if she can at least get reimbursement for the bill on fixing the tooth. Unless she's had inevitable dental work needed forever like me in which case she shouldn't be surprised this happened

What can occasionally happen with fillings- particular metal fillings- is that the filling contracts and expands at a rate different that the tooth. The stress on the tooth from the contraction/expansion weakens it and can cause small cracks in the infrastructure of the tooth.

When this happens, all it will take is stress on the tooth from biting down on something hard or sticky to snap the tooth.

That's probably what happened here.
