Ok this show is so good it deserves its own thread.

It was never must see TV for me until tonight. I really just tuned in for Desperate Housewives and never really got into B&S. I always followed the storyline line but it didn't hook me right away, until tonight.

The writing, the acting, top notch. Calista nailed her rememberance scene. Sally Field brought her A game as well.

Since there is a gay storyline thread i wont get into that too much here but we now have a B&S thread so feel free to chime in and share your thoughts.

I wanted Gabe to say, "Hey i am not a fag you now" and then Sarah say, "ok but if you were it would be ok". Then Gabe says, "Well i am not." He is a cutey so that storyline i could see happenning.

It also would have been nice if Sarah made a plate for Gabe to make him feel more apart of the family but alot was going on this episode so another time.

Sarahs son was so cute playing the drums. He is a good little actor.

Not sure why Nora blames herself.

I am still not sure how i feel about Kevin and his love interest but the martian scene was touching. I was watching it with some straight friends it was so funny watching their reactions when it was revealed that Kevin was talking to a man.

I am a fan of this new show and haven't missed an episode.

Sally Field is awesome, I see an Emmy nomination in several categories.

Oh good. A new B&S thread!

(I'll start my post by telling people there might be spoilers in it, in case it hasn't been aired yet where you are)

Ok, so whew, tonight was a very heavy episode.

Scotty and Kevin have another fight. Duh, didn't see that coming. OK, I'm back on Scotty's side, Kevin was being an ass (you were right all along MattieMich:p ). Just watching the Kevin/Scotty relationship is getting exhausting for me.lol

Sarah cracked the bank code. I literally gasped out loud when she included the "R" in the initials and the account opened. The "That lying bitch" line was delivered flawlessly by Rachel Griffiths. It summed up the shock, excitement, anger, and relief that she felt from finally cracking the code. Then when she confronted Holly, it was so dramatic. The "you've got a choice to make old man" line to Sal was a great touch. I like strong Sarah better than weepy Sarah. To me she is starting to act like the leader of the family that she is meant to be.

Now the really heavy part. Justin has to go back to war. The 9/11 flashbacks were very emotional. It also kind of made me uncomfortable in a way. When it comes down to it, this is a TV show for entertainment purposes and I don't know if it is really appropriate to include that kind of issue in the drama. I got the impression it was used to make the point that Justin signed up to serve in Afghanistan but was now stuck getting sent to Iraq, but even that was never made clear. It was hard for me to comprehend Kitty being in the building next to the towers. It's hard to explain, but for me, in the flashback when she was doing her monologue about the experience, she went back to being Callista instead of Kitty, and something just didn't fit. I'm probably just being overdramatic though.;)

One of the reasons I love this show is that it can have really heavy moments and funny banter moments in the same episode. The Nora/Kitty scenes about their love lives were hilarious. Also when Kevin and Kitty were having lunch, just talking and bitching at eachother seems like something a brother and sister would really do.

I love this show. The writing is superb and the acting is amazing. This show better get some Emmys.

I was hooked after the first episode. Im loving it more than DH right about now. I agree the acting tonight was just awesome!!!

i loved the show since i watched the scene between scotty and kevin when they were at the family gathering at a party. but i had always thought this show had a lot to offer than some cheesy storylines from other shows. i can also see this show being nominated for an emmy. i hope they revive justin back from his overdose on next week's episode.

i hope they revive justin back from his overdose on next week's episode.
From the previews for next week, it looks like they will. There was a lot of talk about getting Justin out of his war obligations, so he must be back to a state where he would be required to return to war.

I thought Saul was using Holly to get the password but after last night it seems he really does care for her.

We'll just have to see how it plays out but there was definitly indication that Saul was just using Holly to get the password.

holly had a kid with his brother-in-law, cheated with his sister's husband, lied to lots of people AND the whole family knows about it.
About the kid. Holly claimed that Daddy Walker (what is his name again?) didn't know that Rebecca was his. So why was her initial included in the family letters in the super-secret password?

It made me kind of sad during the flashbacks when the dad was alive and he seemed like such a good person. His family was so happy and adored him, yet he had a whole other secret life going on.:(

WTF! I just caught up with the episode and want to know if they are writing Scotty out of the show?!!!!

NO!

NO!

NO!

I dont know if i like scotty.

I can't get a read on him.

Too much of a drama queen, treats kevin like crap as if its kevin's fault he is a successful lawyer and Scotty is a busboy.

The thing that I don't really like about Scotty is that he seems to always want Kevin to fit some sort of perfect gay stereotype.

Kevin doesn't wear his sexuality on his sleeve and doesn't feel comfortable with PDAs, so then he must be ashamed of his lifestyle..blah blah.

Kevin doesn't want to give his sperm to his brothers wife, but since he doesn't fit in with typical family values in the first place, he is a hypocrite..blah blah.

Kevin tries to buy a date and that makes him...er..okay, that one was bad.:D

Kevin is no angel (the whole money thing is bad) but it seems like Scotty wants him to become something that he is not, which in turn disappoints Scotty and causes him go on dramatic tantrums. They just don't seem right for eachother.

Wow you make alot of topics... :?

Anyway. I have never seen the show, but I barely watch TV anyway. :)

I don't like the uncle Saul I find him to be a very shady character and he obviously is in on something with Holly. Saul also is gross he has an affair with his dead brother's mistress! And how about his sister's Nora's feelings its just wrong. Glad that Sarah finally sees her uncle for the creep he is. I love how Sarah was so tough with Holly she didn't care for Holly's sob story. I think Holly had some kind of power or influence over the father.

I don't mind Kevin and Scotty's romance and I commend ABC for allowing them to kiss although I wish it were more passionate. But still this gay storyline is great for a major American network. I just wish we knew more about Kevin's life. What was Kevin like before Scotty? Did Kevin ever have an ex lover? What is Scotty's life like? I think they can flesh out their storyline more. But I am grateful for a show where the gay characters are at least kind of sexual. I hope the people behind this show can take it a step further and show some gay passion on TV.

One last thing I didn't like how all the sisters and brothers ganged up on Kevin insisting he give Tommy his sperm. I think that was kind of homophobic. I think it was an assumption that because Kevin is gay he doesn't want his own children and that doesn't really have his own life. I think straight people sometimes view gay men as just not wanting more out of life in terms of committment, starting a family and all that stuff. I agree with Kevin on that one.

Personally, I'm kinda glad the writers and taking a turn away from Kevin and Scotty being together. It's great a character builder for Kevin- I'm sure all that relationship emotions with him will hatch out when the writers decides to give him another love interest.

Now, the women of this show rock. Sally Field, Rachel Griffiths and Calista Flockhart... what a combo. I think Kitty is my favourite right now.... but then again, I said the same about Ally McBeal and she got on my last nerve by season 2.

Dammit! Looks like Scotty is gone.

BYE, SCOTTY. WE'LL MISS YOU!

As Brothers and Sisters fans no doubt know by now Kevin and Scotty are no more. The guys just had too many issues between them to make it work out which is too bad as I quite liked Scotty. Well, I did until the last couple of episodes when the show made him a bit too insecure for my tastes. But gay fans need not despair that one of the better gay relationships on network TV is gone.

[FONT=Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]Michael Ausiello promises that Kevin has another relationship in the pipeline (not counting an upcoming one night stand). Ausiello reports that Kevin's new love interest is someone with ties to the conservative Kitty and that it's a fun twist. Hmmm, I'm smelling yet another Log Cabin Republican here. Guess they didn't get my memo on the topic! There is another possibility, and this is purely conjecture on my part, but Rob Lowe is joining the show as a Republican senator and with all the closeted Republican politicians of late am I crazy to wonder if this might not be the big twist? Sure would be interesting!

WHAT!!! SCOTTY GONE!!! That is a travesty. I loved Scotty. Those writers could have made them get back together. It would have been nice to have a long lasting gay relationship on TV instead of gay characters who have different love interests every two episodes.

Well, this show just gets better and better... how is it it always end with my wanting to cry just a little bit every episode? Either that, or I'm also part of the "cliche"... =)

lol- Water in the engine... love it.

I really liked the character of Scotty. I thought he was a great balance for the blandness of Kevin.
