My dad made it into the new year but passed a couple of hours ago following lengthy illness.He died at home as was his wish with my sisters by his side.We didn't always get along,but things got better after my mom's death twenty years ago.We still occasionally threw our Italian tempers at each other,though...but as time went on I understood him more.His parents weren't demonstrative at all,and it was hard for him to say "I love you" or reveal his feelings though occasionally he would.I know he loved us in his own way.Dad,at least you're not suffering anymore and you could be with family when you passed.You're happy with mom now,I really want to believe and it's going to be strange and kind of empty not having you around.Good bye,dad...may you be forever at peace.
