but am i the only one creeped out by china's "behavior" at the olympics?...from flaunting gymnists who are clearly little girls like the rest of the world is stupid....to making the little girl sit behind a curtain and sing because she was too ugly and making a prettier girl lip sync in her place....and dont forget the fake fire works on tv... to training citizens on what they can and cant talk about with foreigners... and what ever else is going over there. what are they trying to do with all that stuff? show that thier perfect? and if thier gonna do those kind of sneaky things at least do it incognito. The citizens of china dont find that stuff bizarre?

But then again most of the citizens of dont know about tiananmen square massacre.

The majority of have no idea what is really happening
in the world. News in China is totally state controlled.
Citizens have very little in the way of personal rights.
Criminals set for execution are typed for organ donation.
Families of executed persons are made to pay for bullets.
It seems now a days we seem to have forgotten what the
Chinese Communist Government is capable of including
what takes place in Tibet each and everyday.

How we got so comfortably in bed with the enemy is
so beyond me. It is almost that we are rewarding them
for their terrible behavior and Bush has the balls to
condemn the Russians for their military action in Georgia.

for years people have been trying to get rid of the age limit which i agree with...but the point is that thier is an age limit because a 12 year old would would be much more limber and lighter than a older adult (which even that is questionable). so even if thier is no difference between a 12 yo and an adult, china thinks thier is so in a sense...thier cheating. im sure i made no sence.

I hope you're not prejucide, we can't hold an entire race accountable for the actions of some, even a majority. China is no more backwards than any other country. You coming from the US, you have no room to speak about weird rituals and odd behavior, the US is FULL of that stuff.

i didnt think i had to but perhaps i should specify...by china i mean the government, the big heads in suit in charge. not the people. but the people do hold some kind of responcibility for playing along with it...but then again its either play along or suffer.

America is the same but not as extensively ingrained in the general public as some of the things china (the government) has done/not done/withheld/doctored/etc....

it's called communism C-O-M-M-U-N-I-S-M. and chinese culture and history.

China is a different type of government, but American citizens are MORE at fault than the Chinese because they're oppressed, we're just lazy and ignorant. We settle into blind comfort because our government tells is they're gonna take care of everything, and we don't question it even though it's our American right TO question it. If any group of citizens blindly let's their leaders pull them like Chihuahua puppies, it's America.

Soooo, we should have invaded China a long time ago your saying to make them a "democratic" government? That totally worked in Vietnam and Iraq.

Not to mention, the chinese people are incredibly proud of their history and heritage. they would not stand for foreigners trying to invade their HUGE country.

We can't do anything about their communist government short of assassination or war. Neither of which end well. It's up to the people of China to fix their own country, clear on the other side of the world, and for us to help them anyway we can.

Hmmmmm.....I dunno....maybe because the RULE states that you must be 16 to compete in gymnastics. Other countries have great gymnasts under 16 who could have competed, but they chose to play be the rules. I am not saying for sure one way or another if China's girls are under 16, but if they are, they broke the rule should probably lose the gold metal.

Huh?? I didn't say "make them democratic". I'm just saying Americans blindly allow our government to run the show the same way the OP said the Chinese allow their government to run the show. I literally have no clue how you interpreted my post as "We need to make them democractic".

for the Chinese, that is just their culture. they take great pride in making things that are extremely well done and made.

as for our government wanting things to look perfect, that is just human mentality. before someone sees my house, i clean it to the tee and try and make it look person. but normally, it looks nothing of the sort
