Awhile back I had to get a new to me laptop. It runs Windows 10 Pro.

My question is all icons have the type of icon it is after the name of the file, picture, etc. Is there a way to have JPEG, PDF etc. stop showing? I don't need or care what the file type is.

Thanks

So very late to the reply but am brand new to the site.

If you go into windows explorer there will be a menu item for display options. Once in there you'll find a check mark to "hide known file types".
