I am working on a photo project, and I am not good at photoshop or photo editing at all. Yet I was wondering if someone could help me with this little project. In my attached photo, I would like to see if I could get someone to make 1 row of these hands (6 hands, about 1" x 1" in size) going horizontally across in one row, where each hand is a different color (in the colors of the rainbow flag) . . . i.e. the 1st hand would be red, the 2nd hand would be orange, the 3rd hand would be yellow, the 4th hand would be green, the 5th hand would be blue, and the 6th hand would be purple. I tried to do this on an online website (see the link below), however my skills SUCK at editing. Can someone please give this a try and see if you can help me? The final saved photo with the 6 different colored hands should be about 1" x 6" in size. Yet actually, the thumbnail photo attached to this posting would actually be the perfect size, with 5 more hands next to it (side-by-side), and in the rainbow colors.

If anyone can help me, I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you in advance. ;)

OMG Reone!!! That was quick, fast, and PERFECT!!! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! WOW!!! I wish I could do that! The photo that you were able to create is just what I wanted, and it is a HUGE help.

Reone, thanks a MILLION for your help!!! You don’t know what this means to me! ..|

Reone, you are THE KING!!! (ww)(ww)(ww)(ww)(ww)(ww)(ww)(ww)

There is a link to the full-sized image. I found somewhere to upload it :). If you print it out then it should print out at 1" tall and 6" wide unless your printer scales it down.

Thank you once again, Reone!!! ..| Out of curiosity, can you basically described what you did and if there is a class that you could recommend that I take that would cover or be associated with the magic that you were able to do for my image last night? One day soon, I would like to go to a class to learn how to do photoshop and editing. Yet if you can briefly describe what you did and what might be a good class to take, I really would appreciate the recommendation.

When I clicked-on your link, I got the following message: 403 - Forbidden

Yet the picture that you created hit the nail on the head, it is perfect and it is just want I wanted, and it printed out in the 1" x 6" size I wanted. In regards to the full-size image . . . that is another thing I want to learn in such a class . . . i.e. how do I reduce the size or increase the size of an image AND save it when doing editing. I already had pre-installed editing and photoshop type software on my computer since 2003, but I only been trying to use it for about the past 3 years, with absolutely no luck in saving or printing anything on that program. MAJOR FROWN!!! . . . I was hoping that I could learn to use it by trial-and-error in the past 3 years, but this type of program is just one tough cookie that I can not learn on my own. MAJOR FROWN!!! So I am definitely ready to take a class for it!

Thanks so very, very much for your help Reone!

imgur is blocking JUB because they say we have pornographic content  which apparently is against there ToS. yet they promote other websites that dump massive amounts of porn on imgur .. i tried to contact them about that hypocrisy a few times but they ignored it ..

It could be the software you have. (There are many companies that have photo editing software). Also, do you use Apple or WIndows? Since you didn't mention the name of it, it will be difficult to give you precise help.

However, there are many YouTube tutorials on almost any of the photo editing software - do a search.

But it sounds like you could use some hands on. Are there any Rec department courses - or courses offered at a local community college or high school. I think you would learn quite quickly if someone showed you the basics.

Well thanks again Reone. (ww)(ww)(ww) I sure do greatly appreciate you allowing me to pick your brain about this topic. SMILE!!! I will take notes on all that you shared in your last posting, plus I will take a copy of my original posting and use that as a starting point, for when I take a class on photoshop and editing and or try to learn photoshop and editing on my own.

In my case, when it comes to computers, software, hardware, I am not very good at learning or doing things with them, when it requires a great deal of know-how. I AM NOT technically and artistically inclined. MAJOR FROWN!!! I can usually do simple computer things as long as it does not require too much logic and detail. However since I never had any luck in the past 3 years toying with my “want to be version of photoshop and editing software”, I now know that I need professional hands-on help. LOL!!! I figured if have not learned on my own in 3 years, I need some serious hands-on help. Yet before going to a class, I will definitely look into buying a training DVD, since I have never bought a DVD to get training on a subject before. Yet since I was never successful doing something like this by reading alone, however if some program guides come with a DVD or CD with videos, this might be interesting and fun to try, before taking a class.

Yet based on what I was able to relay to you Reone, in order for you to create that one photo and the great information in your last posting, I will be able to work with it as an example that I can hopefully experiment with on my own (if I can learn it on my own) or I can use this to experiment in a photoshop and editing class somewhere. LOL!!!

Thank you Corny, for your help in regards to copying and pasting the link into the browser, as that worked. COOL!!! ..| This is great information to know. I will remember this for the future, in case something like this might happen on other sites. Up until now, I thought if a url does not work in an email or posting, that it was bad. Yet this is the first time since I started using the internet (over 10 years ago), I never knew about this. GASP!!! & WOW!!!

OMG!!! Reone, that photo size and the way it is centered is just AWESOME!!!, since I was able to take Corny’s advise and copy and past your link into my browser. Seeing how great this second photo is, I will use it instead for my project, because that larger photo looks even better than the smaller version . . . if you can believe that! LOL!!! Plus I like how all 6 hands are centered on the top of the page when I print it out. Yet Reone, I was really blown away how super nice & perfect that photo came out via your link. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! WOW!!!

Shainsk, I have Windows XP, but I am not very computer literate, so I am not surprised by my many troubles with photoshop and editing. MAJOR FROWN!!! One program I have is called “Arcsoft PhotoStudio 5", the other one I have is called “Dell Image Expert Standard Edition”, and I have a ton of editing options on my WordPerfect 10 . . . but I suck at trying to use those editing options on WP10. MAJOR FROWN!!! By the way, I have a Dell desktop computer. I will see if I can find some tutorials on YouTube for more help. Thanks for the advice by recommending them to me. I appreciate it so very much. Yes, there are various computer courses at some of my nearby local community colleges, but I am not sure about the the Rec. Dept. and high schools. Yet since I live in Los Angeles, I do see that there seems to be a lot of places that I can go to get training . . . for the right price of course. LOL!!!! Yet thanks to you and Reone, I do have some low cost options to start with, before considering taking some potentially high price training classes. Yet since Photoshop seems to be the main photo editing software, I think I will just get a real version of Photoshop and learn how to use it vs. messing with my “want to be Photoshop” programs I have on my computer. LOL!!!

Flash, thank you for your kind words and heartwarming feedback. Awww gosh. BLUSH!!! !oops! Based on what you expressed, I always thank people for helping me . . . either in person or online, because I know that people do not have to help me. Yet it is always so very special and nice that there always seems to be sincere and wonderful people out there with a heart of gold, who are willing to help people . . . people that they don’t know, people that they can’t see. These people that so generously come to the aid of others in need, don’t expect anything in return for their help . . . they just do it out of the goodness of their heart. However when I can help people in person or online, I do not hesitate to try to help them, because I am always motivated to help others, because so many others have helped me so many-many-many times over the years. So I LOVE to pay it forward when the opportunity arises. :D

Thank you GREAT GUYS so very, very much . . . you all are worth your weight in gold! ..|:gogirl:

Cheers!!!,

Wilson

Forget about WP10 for editing graphics - it's not made for that and it would be very confusing even for experts to use. WordPerfect is owned by Corel and they do have a "Corel Paint Shop Pro" that is decent. (And has online tutorials).

I'm not familiar with ArcSoft 5.0, but i looked at it online a bit.

I briefly looked at YouTube, and found a tutorial about resizing a photo.

[ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hizO5ftjNXw[/ame]

I watched about half of it - it seems to explain it.
There are some other YouTube videos on arcsoft - I didn't look at them.

However, i think you should take a look at your original request and try to do it yourself.

First load the image.
Then Do a "Select All"
Then a Copy
Then a Paste
Use the FloodFill tool to change the color as you see fit.
arrange as desired.
And if you can do this, do it again for each desired color.

Take a few minutes to try it. Then ask questions if you get stuck.

I've used Paint Shop Pro over a decade ago, and I quite liked it then. I don't know what it's like now though.

paint.net is fairly decent as far as "free" stuff goes. There is an active forum with new plugins being created for it all the time for effects and stuff. You can even go there to ask about how to do stuff, there is an extensive amount of info just waiting to be read.

The gold standard for free image editing software is GIMP.

Some people don't like GIMP's three-window interface, which takes a little getting used to. However, if you are open to learning, GIMP is very nearly as powerful as $600 Photoshop, and it's FREE! There is very little that you can do in Photoshop that you can't also do in GIMP.

GIMP is cross-platform (Windows, Mac, Linux). A great many tutorials are available online for GIMP, as well as a number of instruction books.

WOW!!! Thank you for the continued help and support Reone ..|, it is greatly appreciated. That is okay by not being able to recommend a book. With my expertise on internet surfing, I am sure I can find a suitable book with a DVD and or CD to help me along.

Thank you very much once again Shainsk. Oh, in regards to the WP10 . . . well there is a great deal of editing options and gizmos for that software . . . which I do not have a clue how to work , since my having WP10 since 2003. Most of all, thank you for the information that you provided, and for helping “little old me;). I will give it a try and see what happens (based on my original request that Reone was able to do for me). Thanks so very much for your help.

Star-warrior and T-Rexx, thank you both very much for your input and help. I will take a look at the paint.net website and also take a look at some of the free Gimp websites, and see what happens. Thank you for recommending them.

Thanks so very, very much you Guys. As always, I appreciate your help so very much. :gogirl:
