I just got home from watching it. For those that have seen it and liked it I have to ask; why?

I saw a production of it that a friend was in last year.

It was 2 hours of my life that I will never get back.

^ I just spent 2 1/2 hours.

The people as cats scared me.

Memory was beautiful though.

My friend and I almost walked out. We had heard it is one of the best ever from Broadway. Why would people lie about this?:grrr:  ](*,)

PS Are you still friends with them?

I'm actually not friends with her anymore, but for an entirely different reason.

I didn't understand anything that was going on in the play. Was there even a storyline or was it just about of people crawling across the floor singing?

My only regret is that I came back inside from a smoke after the intermission. I should have just gone home.

The play if you want to call it that is based on a book of poems by T. S. Eliot. There is in fact to storyline/plot. Each song is just one of the poems from the book.

My friend and I only stuck around for "Memory". I really don't get what people liked about it.:D

In fact Memory is the only song in the musical not to be derived from Old Possum's Book of Practical Cats. It is a bastardised version of another poem by Eliot; Rhapsody on a Windy Night which is a disturbing symbolic account of a late night encounter with a pox-ridden street-whore!

I've never been able to hear that song as romantic somehow!

You guys are forgetting that this show started on Broadway yearssssss ago, and that's when it was "so good". Plus it was known because of the make-up effects more than anything. You guys are seeing non-broadway versions of the show, which probably don't have a much talent in the makeup department

I saw the show this last summer, and walked in totally expecting to hate it. While it wasn't the most mind-blowing event, I really enjoyed watching it and would go to see it again. The plot is kind of thin, but I like the idea of jellicle cats (and I'm NOT a cat person) and the dancing and singing where all superb, as was the costumes and makeup. The joy in watching Cats is that each of the different characters has their own moment and their own song and its just a fun show to watch.

I'm sure most of you will disagree, but thats ok! I believe it is the longest running show in Broadway history.

I saw it with a group of people. Only me & one other person liked it. I loved the costumes, makeup and songs. Some of the guys looked hot in those tight costumes.

I have season box tickets to traveling Broadway shows. I see the same as those in NY, but a slightly smaller set and a few different actors.

For me besides "Memory" the show is very forgettable. My friend did like the makeup though.

You may be right, but I think it now may be the second longest. I think another show over took it a few years ago.
