Hey Jubers.........

Any of you guys ever experience a Cell phone issue where your cell began cutting off between calls, heavy static then one day it just wouldnt power on until you plugged the charger in?

When I plugged the charger in the phone powered on and said "No Battery".....So I bought a new battery and its still saying the same freaking thing...I'm a Verizon subscriber but the customer service dept. is unable to help because I still have an Altell cell...Of course they want me to upgrade to one of their 2yr phones..

I had the Phone and the original battery for 4yrs....Could this be a software issue or is the phone just Dead? I'm tempted to throw it against the wall to see if that will help...

It would seem there's something internal if a new battery didn't fix it. It may be bad connections on the board/bad charging port.

Instead of signing-up for a new contract, I'd look on ebay, etc. for another phone and then have verizon activate it for you.

 You had the same cell phone for FOUR years??! OMG! That is a direct violation of the 2-year rule mandated by the cell phone companies who consider it unthinkable to own a phone for more than 2 years. Seriously, good for you that it lasted that long. I wish I could keep one. I've had 3 phones in 4 years. One was dropped in the pool (and its still in there), one was accidentally dropped out of car at 80 mph on the way to Key West and the other was smashed into a million pieces at the bar. (don't ask).

I had a similar experience with Verizon in terms of being eligible for an upgrade when you have phone problems on a device you want to keep. They just won't really help you or give you options, they will only push re-locking you into a contract for a new phone.

The Ebay advice is the right course.

Thanks Guys for all the input.....Makes sense that the issue is internal...Ebay is a good advice but it's not so much the PHONE itself that I'm in love with it's my "Contacts list" that I'm gonna cry over...

All my "Booty Call" numbers are in that phone and I Don't know ANY of them by memory...People that I use to date, lawn care service, Family, Friends & on and on...I had an Ass of numbers...Yes I can add most of them to a new phone but NOT all of them....

This is a hard lesson but I'm going to keep an address book so I won't lose years worth of numbers because of a Damn cell phone...

Try connecting the power cord and see if it will stay running that way allowing you to retrieve your numbers.

Aw that sucks man. I know how you feel... does your phone have a SIM card? It may be possible to save the numbers. If not... not much you can do. Yeah if you can download the address book to your computer or put on a memory stick.

Oh it has the Sim card feature but one was not included when I bought the phone/plan back in 2007.....Smart people buy Sim Cards.....I was too STUPID not to EVER buy one...Had I bought one I wouldnt be going through any of this........So, so SAD...

Try connecting the power cord and see if it will stay running that way allowing you to retrieve your numbers.

The ONLY time the cell will even come on is when I plug the power cord into the charger. The "name of the cell" will flash for a few seconds then "No battery" is displayed and the phone turns off, then back on again and it will do this 24/7 and never Charge.....I'm stuck in this process...

I can't even get to the Display screen that shows the "time, menu, contacts"....The phone won't even acknowledge there's a "Battery" "present' inside the phone, so it will not power forward to my display screen...

Have you tried plugging in the phone without the battery installed and let it run off A/C power? Probably useless advice from me here... but you never know...

Yeap, sure have tried that...The phone always says "No battery" when the new battery is in and it says "No battery" when the battery is out...

WHat's the make/model of the phone you're using?
