Paramount is giving the classic Star Trek series the CGI treatment. The episodes will be put out into syndication with a new look and new music. Here's the new digital Enterprise ---

I've been saying they should do this for years, but I didn't think they would consider it financially viable. Yay!! (!)

Are they going to make the Klingons look like Klingons too? Or is it just going to be white ppl wearing brown make up again? :) I like to know when the Klingons got their shovel heads???

This is great news....I can't wait! Love classic trek....every episode you get to see Shatner do the famous double hand axe chop to some guy and his shirt always gets ripped with about 15 mins left in the show! :D

the klingon thing is brought up in an episode of DS9 when they get sent back to the past which is the "trouble with tribbles" episode.....Warf comments on the genetic change and says its a private klingon matter...my bf says that there was some genetic engineering that went bad and made the klingons look different LOL oh lord I can't beleve I'm typing all this. I'm going to run and hide my geeky self now

A relevant Star Trek for the new millenium, balancing the respect for the original vision of the series ,and Deep Space Nine's abilities to challenge and be grittier and more realistic, focusing on humanity's battle to remain more civilized and humane and progressive while dealing with all the forces inside and outside that cause us to fall into weakness and questionable ehical and moral situations-that would be a real victory for Star Trek fans, who still have the wonderful legacy of all the shows(voyager being an unfortunate anomaly)to see on cable and DVD.New generations will appreciate them, but Paramount appears detemined to only give lip service to Star Trek fans, not real innovation, creativity, and anticipation.

I saw that and thought cool. But it doesn't even say what network it's going to be on. Who's doing this anyway?

I can't wait to see what they'll do with it.
Playing the waiting game sucks.
*hugs all the "geeks" while he waits*

Ha Ha! I have the boxset (the old VHS boxset) that came with the tribble...mine was grey. I remember Warf saying "It's a private matter that we do not discuss with outsiders!" hehehehe

There's tons of theories about it....but if you look at Enterprise they were normal klingons and then 100 years later (for classic trek) they where guys in brown makeup.

I know the difference was in the time (1963 vs 2005) and money budget but I trying to explain to a friend of mine who had only watched Star trek Next Gen and had never....never seen classic before. hehehe He goes where are the klingons? I said those are the klingons...he thought I was pulling his leg.

ahhh. the memories! :)
:gogirl:

Fourth season of Star Trek Enterprise, in a two part episode they explain what happens to the Klingons why they look different in TOS compared to ENT/TNG, and no they are not changeing the look of Klingons in TOS.

I was just about to post that! lol

The klingons tried to breed their own Augments, but the experiment failed and the klingon people got sick. Phlox developed a cure that would heal them but made them look like humans.

WATCH ENTERPRISE, PEOPLE!!! :grrr:

hey thanks! I watched Enterprise faithfully for the first 2 seasons...and then I just got bored with it. Did they ever find out who that guy was that was causing the Time War in the first season? I thought he might have been that vulcan guy.

people.. Klingons aren't REAL.

this may be a shock to people who can speak Kilngon, but they're just people in masks.

the "new Klingon" look was invented for the First Star Trek movie when they wanted to have them look like aliens and not George HAmilton.

sheesh.

(besides, K'les looks like that and he's 2000 years old. I'm such a nerd.)

I'm sorry but I don't like this at all. The cheap sets, cheap props, and cheap costumes were what made the TV series so great. To tamper with the "feel" of it now is blasphemous, IMO. I bet Gene Roddenberry is rolling over in his grave.

The "new" star wars movies are a mess.. they go back and forth between state of the art digital effects and cardboard walls with flashing LEDs on them.

The sounds for the effects are stunning and the dialogue is horrible monophonic and tinny... it just screams "THIS GOT FIXED IN THE MIX".

Now I wonder if anyone's going to think I'm hot because I corrected the spelling: It's Kahless.

Nah. It was worth a try though.

No, Ambassador Soval wasn't part of it at all.
You might find out a little more here.

Can't I have you both?

I'd buy that for a dollar! :D
