Ok.. maybe I have too much time on my hands. Which do you use on a daily basis?

On a daily basis, it would be the paper ones.

If you go to restaurants which give you cloth ones, just remember it was used by someone else to wipe up their facial orifices with and their bodily fluids may once have appeared on it. Albeit, washed, dried and ironed.

Consider this: Would you put on your neighbour's used underwear?

I use both, but find, since I am by myself most of the time, I use whatever is close, napkin, paper towel, dish towel, etc....

I just bought some beautiful napkin rings from Mikasa on Sunday--lots of pretty bugs and butterflies in pewter to grace my Christmas table.

The napkins are 400 count Peruvian cotton (I made them--Martha, eat your heart out).

I prefer cloth, but will easily settle for paper.

we use cloth napkins everyday. I even go so far as to iron them from time to time.

so, then.. you eat with your fingers at restraurants? Don't they rewash the silverware and glassware?

as far as the neighbours underwear.. well.. that's a different topic

Paper from a roll of towels fo me. I also use paper plates and plastic utensils because I hate doing dishes.
