I guess I was inspired by the thread about everyone's favourite 80s ladies to start this post. I was just wondering if anyone else on here is a fan of the dance shows of the 70's, 80s and 90s. Shows like Club MTV, Soul Train, Dance Party USA, Party Machine, etc.

Personally, my fave dance show would have to be Club MTV. From Downtown Julie Brown, to the fashion and the dancers, I just loved it! Plus, it was a bit more dance music oriented. Wubba Wubba Wubba!

^I KNEW that name "Downtown Julie Brown" came from somewhere, but I did not know where!

I wasn't a huge fan of those dance shows(one of my more annoying memories was Saturday morning cartoons ending at noon, and guess what would come on? Soul Train - and later, Solid Gold), but in retrospect, maybe if I watched some, I might know how to dance.

CoverModel - LOVED those shows. I also watched one that originated in Canada called Electric Circus - AWESOME dance music.

I can't believe I forgot Electric Circus! It was always a dream of mine to dance on the show!

Still bang out some of my old "Club Mtv" cd's everynow and again.

I remember on Soul Train--there was this one Asian dancer that just pissed me the fuck off. Seemed to have a bit of an attitude...shakin' that ass like she honestly thought her shit didn't stank. Moms hated that bitch too, lol.

No way! Which Club MTV CDs do you have? I've got 1 through 4.

I think that was one of the cool things about these shows that had regular dancers. You could pick out which ones were your faves and of course, which ones just got on your nerves lol

I've got 1-3, and one I don't know which volume it is, because I lost all the cases. My favorite one too-- it's got Adina Howard's "Freak Like Me", Madonna's "Human Nature" and my personal favorite Total's "Can't You See".

For those of you that were fans of Downtown Julie Brown on Club MTV, she's hosting a new online show for Billboard Magazine, TMI (The Music Insider) Live.

Fun Madonna megamix from Club MTV. Like A Prayer, Express Yourself, Vogue, and Burning Up!
