Is anybody familiar with Cocteau Twins? I just started listening to their album Treasure and I really like it. Does anybody have any recommendations as to which other albums I should get or which individual songs I should download? I've just downloaded Carolyn's Fingers and it's amazing.

I just found out Elizabeth Fraser is the vocalist on Massive Attack's Teardrop which I really love <3

I've got some of their stuff. Not a lot. I like what I hear, but to be honest, it does sort of blend together to me. I know I've got "Sugar Hiccup" and "Pearly Dewdrops Drops" on the harddrive, and some collection on CD somewhere.

Is it cock-TOW? I forget.

I have been a fan for many years. I think you will not be disappointed no matter what you listen too.

Heaven or Las Vegas is great from what I've listened to so far. It's hard for me to get past "Cherry-Colored Funk".

also been a fan since the beginning. Treasure is my favorite and arguably their best. you can't go wrong will their 4AD output. the one's that followed were not as good.

Good for you Stryfe! The Cocteau Twins are definitely worth discovering. I agree with a poster about "Heaven or Las Vegas" as a good place to start. It is my personal favorite from the Twins.

I think I have everything by them! And yes, I echo the others who recommend "Heaven or Las Vegas". "Victorialand" one of their standout albums for me. Almost no percussion is used so the entire album has this floating feeling.

Re: Favorite Cocteau Twins song?

I think "The Spangle Maker" has remained my favorite Cocteau Twins song for many years. I was surprised to not see it on the list. Follow up would be "From The Flagstones" or "A Kissed-Out Red Floatboat". I enjoyed the pairing of Elizabeth Frazer's voice and Robin Guthrie's atmospheric loops for as long as it lasted. Robin Guthrie has also released some top-notch ambient-atmospheric solo albums of his own.
