My darkhorse prediction this year is that TCU will make a serious run for the BCS Championship game (anything but freakin Boise State)

Im very surprised the FSU is preranked so high, but interesting all the same, and they deserve it (I suppose)

Hey, The Warriors (I prefer Rainbow Warriors) were a great team last year, I hope to see more of them. They were picked as number 1 in the WAC by Lindy's. There is a lot of hope in their quarterback - Bryant Moniz. Good luck, dudes!

As for me, since I live in California, I feel that I have to support the PAC. Sports Illustrated just came out with their review of the new PAC- 12. Stanford looks super good. I think that with Andrew Luck as quarterback, they will be the team to beat!

Watched some pre-season NFL tonight. Damn...come on college ball. We play Akron first game...should be a no contest, but with everything that has been goin on with the Buckeyes recently one can never tell.

The U is not going down. Like Freddy Mac and Fannie Mae, they're almost too big to fail. Miami is a powerhouse in ESPN ratings, and TV rights is the bread and butter of the NCAA. They know not to bite the hand that feeds them, that's why UConn was only slapped on the wrist after the Calhoun fiasco, and why USC is still alive and well.

I'm not saying it's fair (and of course I don't wanna see my alma mater go down), but that's the way of the world. Money counts. For a lot. Plus think about the position of the other behemoths. To varying degrees, all football royal houses have engaged in similar behavior. Death penalty for Miami opens the door for euthanizing their programs if sufficient evidence of violations are found. Then what? What's to stop the vanquished schools from forming their own conference and keep the millions in TV revenue for themselves? It's a slippery slope, and the NCAA has to weigh punishment against long term fiscal survival. If anything, this scandal weakens their position. Anything short of the death penalty and they'll lose credibility; apply the death penalty and watch your annual profits diminish substantially. It's a no win scenario.

The way I see it, Shalala will get some heat to resign, Dee will lose all credibility, and there'll be some spineless compromise on the part of the NCAA to salvage whatever reputation they have left. Then Miami will apologize publicly for the fiasco (and for unleashing Ken Dorsey onto the NFL, ugh), and we'll all move on.

I have to agree with you. University of Miami is too big and powerful to get the death penalty, in my opinion at least, they are huge in football, baseball and hav3e quite a few programs. sure they will get penalized but nothing to the extent of a death penalty.

Look at USC, ohio state and Uconn. enough said.

Me - I'll be glued to the TV in the afternoon to see as much as I can. Then, I'm heading out in the evening to attend the game of my local college.
