College Softball

Don't know how many of you follow College softball but the tournament starts this weekend coming up and the bracket came out today.

I would assume our friend Phoenix is a fan since Arizona is one of the best teams.

Hey Red Storm, never got into softball, the term "soft" doesn't catch my attention. I do know the team is usually top ranked and have made many consecutive appearances. I am very proud of their success and may have to check out some games, if they're on TV. Thanks for the heads up!

Well Regionals are done and we move onto Super Regionals

Florida vs Cal
Arizona vs Stanford
Baylor vs Michigan
Jacksonville State vs Alabama
Washington vs Georgia Tech
North Dakota State vs Arizona State
Ucla vs Missouri

Both Jacksonville State and North dakota State came out of their regional and were the lowest seeded teams at #4.

The Washington vs Umass game went to 15 innings and was over 5 hours. great game!

You must really be a dedicated softball fan. Did u sit through the whole UMass/Washington game? Holy cow! I've been really pissed off about baseball since the dumbass GM of the Diamondbacks fired my manager. I'm totally disgusted with the organization right now, I haven't watched a game since Melvin got the boot.

when I say I am into sports and a big college sports fan, I am not kidding.

I left the Umass/UW game in the 4th, went to have dinner with a friend then coffee and when I got back at about midnight, it was 1-1 in the 11th inning. So watched the rest. 15 innings of good pitching and defense. One of the best softball games I have watched.


Your Wildcats are going to Palo Alto. Honestly, I think you guys can pull this one from Stanford. Your offense is scary, you can score at will. However, you played 2 games up there this season and lost both. I am going to be a good samaritan and pick Arizona in 3 games.

ASU gets North Dakota State at home, yep, NDSU pulled a shocker and being the 4th seed in the Oklahoma regional , they just upset everyone and now go to super regionals for the first time ever. Good to see mid majors make it to SR, BUT since they are playing my beloved Devils, i hope NDSU loses their next 2 games lol.

Have no clue who I want to win. Caitlin Lowe MADE me a fan of Arizona...now I feel a certain loyalty. I do like ASU..sort of the underdog that I just love.

But I think my heart lies with the senior pitcher, Danielle Lawrie. She did so good yesterday.

Oh and I'm glad UCLA lost

Danielle Lawrie is not a senior, she is a junior, she used her redshirt year last year to traing for the olympics with team Canada. She is a monster.
She can pitch and hit!!, 2 home runs yesterday and pitching the whole game? she is the real deal.

UCLA lost at home, wasn't expecting that but Missouri seems to be for real.

Well, I have to of course pull for the school I attend: Alabama. I've been to several of the softball team's games, and they are amazing. Then again, i grew up spendin Saturdays at my sister's softball games, so I enjoy the memories it brings back, but gettin to the point.

Kelsi Dunne, the Alabama pitcher, is amazing. She can throw the ball like there is no tomorrow. The entire team is amazing, I really hope they go all the way

Kelsi became one of my favorite players last year when my team Arizona State, beat Alabama twice in the World Series. This is the year Alabama can go all the way. You have Kelsi along with a good supporting cast. That girl from Miami, Montalvo, is a pretty tough cookie!.

Good luck Alabama, I am rooting for you guys on that side of the bracket.

This is the 2nd time in 3 yrs that UCLA doesn't make it to the World Series. Not as dominant as they were before. Danielle is bad ass period. She pitched an entire game and hit 2 home runs. what else can she do?

She beat Team USA in 2005 before she went to college. To me that is amazing

The first two innings of the Arizona - Florida game were kind of scary to watch. I thought Arizona were going to get blown away. Its crazy to think of all the pitchers they've had...and now this. I hope Arizona come back.
