Is it true that back in the day you could get all sorts of things for them? Like a Barbie house and car and stable set, but presumably more Flintstony than Barbie?

That I don't know. Pet Rocks were more an American fad. They didn't really become popular up here in Canada. It wouldn't surprise me, though, but I'm not sure the fad lasted long enough to come out with accessories.

It was, after all, just a rock.

Though I have to say, Brokeback Mountian doesn't really appeal that much to me. Not my type of movie.

I guess it depends on whether you habitually look down at your feet, or at where you're going. I've also bumped into street signs, pedestrians, parking meters, etc.
