I had someone tell me I am their spirit animal. Should I take that as a compliment or insult? :rotflmao:

I have heard that spoken to other humans, so I think it merely a product of poor language skills, and not an insult.

It's actually quite the compliment for someone to see you as their hero, icon, or mascot. So, be chuffed!

He says he likes the way I think. I am laid back. So I am guessing a good thing then.

. . . . I am laid back.

So, like. . . . . . roadkill?

I'm guessing this is a game people play like horoscopes, fortune cookies, etc

But I really don't understand the concept. Can his spirit animal be one specific critter? I always assumed they were talking about a species in general -- like, if you are his spirit animal, so too all humans are included as his spirit animal.

Regardless of any shamanistic origins of spirit animals, the concept has evolved in social media to mean a host of humorous, iconic, or humorous things. Informally and secularly, it is often just someone or some animal behaving in a distinctive manner than someone else admires.
