She's one of my favorite artists. I'm really looking forward to her new music. Some of the greatest music comes from an artist's sadness.

I remember the first song I heard from her - 'Put Your Records On'. A relaxing and easy-listening sort of tune.

i didn't know this was coming out! i'm also really excited for this! looks like it comes out on the 26th!

Love CBR!! My favorite song of hers is "Trouble Sleeping"! Just last night when I sync'd my iPod I checked to see which song I've played the most and that was the one. Such a cool broad! Can't wait for the new CD. I'll definitely be buying it.

Oh my god, thank you Anton for finding this! You fucking rock! (!)

I've been listening to Are You There, Diving for Hearts, and The Sea on a non-stop loop. The entire album is painstakingly gorgeous but those three are blowing my socks off. Corinne's back and better than ever. :gogirl:

It leaked several days ago. As with the first release looking forward to the remixes also.

Wow, that was half of what she sold with her debut. I guess nobody is buying good music anymore.

Corinne Bailey Rae - The Sea

Did anyone pick up this album? I only listened to a few of her songs on her debut album, but I did follow the tragic story about the death of her husband.

It all seemed especially sad given how much love you could hear in her songs that must have been inspired by him. Of course, now everyone had their eyes on the content of her second album and what she might sound like given her time sorting out the pain of losing him.

The album's been on my list since it was released, but it was only today that I picked it up. I was having a pretty shabby day all around, so while getting my car inspected, I ditched my cellphone and everything else and walked to a nearby Starbucks, which I never go to. But they did have her CD sitting there, so instead of getting a bad cup of coffee, I grabbed this for $13.

I love it. It's smooth and it fit right with how I was feeling and it really resounds with some of the melancholy you should expect given what she's gone through. But it's also got some gothic lift to it and it feels exactly like being adrift in its namesake. You get this feeling that at some points you're being tossed around in a storm, quietly submerged and moving along with a deep sea current, washing up on shore, and finally reflecting on the journey that brought you there and all that the sea gave to and took from you.

It was great. What did others think?
