hey guys! well today i went for a consultation and second opinion to a plastic surgen, and well i came out of there depressed..the doc was nice just VERY honest,i've lost a great amount of weight..i went from 270 to 195 in about a year and a half..now what i want to have done is tighten the abdomen, and remove the dreadful "man boobs" but apparently according to doc is he doesnt think it will be a sucess beacouse the elastisity around that area is kinda bad,so that would mean he'd have to remove skin from that area, but he explained thats a pretty big scar around each pec..which he also mentioned could be covered by a tatoo?..hmm..otherwise i'm pretty much screwed. Now i'm really bothered by how my body looks,i look ok dressed, but cmon i'm only 20years old..i wanna be naked all the time!! so basically im here asking for support and advice from you guys, and if any of you have gone through this, please respond with some kind of feedback! thanks guys!

IMO, surgery shopuld be a last resort. I hate to tell you but what you are after can be achieved by exercise, exercise and even more exercise. Man boobs can become pecs. Stomach flab can become a washboard. It just takes a lot of work in a gym. These workouts would be good for you. They do not leave scars and you do not need tattoos - in fact, tattooos mar good bodies. You do regain a ton of self esteem by creating a good healthy body.

Not to put it too bluntly, cosmetic surgery along the lines you are thinking about is the lazy way out. Even with surgery, you will not have the body image you are after unless you start an exercise/eating regime so why not go down that path to start with?

The human skin is an organ of elasticity. Elasticity only weakens with age, that is usually the case when you're over 40 and your skin cannot retract fully to its original state.

You are at 20 years old, and there is nothing that your body cannot do right now. Time; you need to let time do its job. At 20 years old, your skin is still fully capable of returning back to its original shape and size.

Second thing is, besides waiting for your skin to return back, why don't you consider doing exercises?

Weight lifting does a well job to toning the body. You're not aiming for bigger muscles, but aiming for a tighter chest, stomach, arms, etc.

There are just so many more things you can do and try in order to look good.

Plastic surgery leaves scar, and most people know this. Most regret, but it is too late. Then like you stated, who the hell tattoo below their pecs (to hide the scar)?

Last year around May, I decided that I have had enough with my body being overweight. I was at 185lbs -190lbs, and I told myself I must make a commitment, dedication, and perseverance. It has been a year and I now weighs 140lbs.

At first, my skin was like yours not retracting fully yet. I'd lost the fat on my stomach and body but I still had man boobs. Then I started weight lifting, amazingly after the first week of dedication, my manboobs turned into pecs. I am not lifting to gain muscle but to tone down my previously flabbly body. I started doing pushups, pullups, and swimming. These exercises are great for your upper body including your chest and arms! ;)

Like Ramindra said in the above, unless you're totally sure that you're absolutely tired and done with trying, then plastic surgery should always be your LAST decision.

I didn't mention that iv'e been overweight my whole life (thanks to mom) and mean to sound lazy, but i do excercise..i run/walk 3miles everyday, but i don't know..I feel like theres nothing left to better my body, now don't get me wrong..i'm not looking to get a supermodel body, just a decent toned one..which i've never had,so i don't know how it feels to walk around without my shirt on.

Adding to the advice that you have already been given.

There's two issues here-
  1. A 75 pound weight loss at age 20 will cause some loose skin but you are young enough that your skin will retract/shrink. So, it is possible that you will continue to see improvement here. But the thing that will give you the best result is to work on building up the muscle underneath the sagging areas. By putting on some muscle, you will fill in the empty space where the fat used to be. This will also give you a better appearance in clothes- particularly t-shirts and other shirts with no buttons in the front.
  2. Many people who lose weight have lasting body images, especially if they were heavy as children. You'll hear many now average-sized people say, "In my head, I'm still the fat kid". Body image is very different from reality. It sounds like even though you've made amazing progress in getting rid of fat on your body, you haven't quite worked through some of your residual body-image issues.
What you've done in losing this amount a weight at a young age is an accomplishment. Give yourself credit for the hard work and discipline that it took to get this far.

great, thanks for the advise and easying my min.Now i have another question,my body is shaped wierd, mabe i think that beacouse of the weight loss,or my man boobs that stand perky? haha but my body is wide from the upper part, and slimmer when it comes to my waist. Can i change that? or will it look better once i'm completely toned up? i wish i could post some pics, but i'm ambarrased.

Well, you can post some waist to neck pictures if you want.

Most guy who have lost weight have the opposite issue that you have- they have wider waists, hips and legs because of the additional muscle development from carrying heavier weight. But you were not that heavy.

Most guys would be happy with a wider upper body and slimmer waist, so unless we're missing something - it sounds like a normal body of someone who just needs to add muscle tone.

Haha!
Sorry, a bit irrelevant, but my mum just got back from holiday in America, and had a nose job, eye bags removed and her neck sag removed!
She didn't even tell me!
