This is my first time posting here so I apologize if this is the wrong subforum.

Anyway, I just got back from the gym and noticed that my roommate was staring at my crotch as we made small talk. This was one of many times and I'm not sure what to make of it. I don't know him that well but I'm guessing he is straight. I've noticed that other straight guys tend to do this a lot, as well, when I'm at the gym.

Is this common behavior, and should I just ignore it? Or, does it indicate some type of interest?

Though i am very surprised that you are sharing living arrangements with

It's perfectly normal. There have been several legit studies that show men period, straight, gay, bit, whatever, lock in on the crotch area. Almost all porn is cock centric.
