It seems that the new Comedy series has set a record for the lowest premiere of a comedy in prime time - ever. With a rating of 0.6/5, the series brought in an audience of less that 350,000 which is disaster to the network. Add this to the already failed shows they have already airing, "Gossip Girl", "Reaper", and "Beauty and the Geek" are all falling fast.

"I am not sure what the network is going to do." Was a statement from an executive producer from the network, who decided to remain decided. "Four failing shows in one season - this is bad bad bad news."

Last night was the biggest night the CW has seen since June. Supernatural, a classic hit had a good rating of 3.8/6 (About 5 Million Viewers) and Smallville actually came in lower than normal for a season premiere of 4.1/9 (About 7 Million Viewers).

Network executives want to pull a few "selected'' shows from air this week, but the President and CEO is reluctant to do so. Joan Ostrand, CEO of CW released this statement, "Its still too early to tell, usually around the third show we can get an idea of the shows audience." The President has been in trouble lately because of the bad moves she made with new shows. She has recently denied production to a "Charmed" spin off and a new series which would have been a knock off of the movie "The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants."

In 2005, when NBC premiered, 'Celebrity Cook-Off' it was canceled after its second episode with an audience of just less than one million.

Hopefully along with the "Supernatural" and "Smallville", "One Tree Hill" can bring some dignity back to the failing network.

aliens in america

i think is the comedy
not much of a comedy

This is just proof Dawn Offstrof (spelling?) doesn't know what she's doing. You put the type of idiot who replaces Veronica Mars with The Pussycat Dolls in charge of your network and you're surprised by her failure? Really?

They've been making bad decisions since they pissed Buffy the Vampire Slayer away years ago. Then they killed Angel to start another show that didn't last maybe four episodes, and they took a shining light for UPN like Veronica Mars and pissed it away too. And they killed a tremendous show like Everwood and kept Seventh Heaven on way past its prime.

The strange thing is that critics really have tended to like "Reaper" and love the irreverent satire of 'Aliens in America"...we're not talking cookie cutter, mediocre, unambitious sitcoms here.I am really surprised how badly some of these programs tanked.I watched "Aliens in America" and found it uproarious, irreverent, subversive yet sweet...not easy to do.

I haven't seen Aliens in America but in today's climate I expected it to pull crappy ratings whether it was good or not. CW totally should've ignored Gossip Girls and just bought OC after fox cancelled it. Reaper will catch when it grows a base I'm surprised it doesn't already have the built in Kevin Smith fanbase.

None of their shows are really interestig at all. I used to watch Supernatural but it got boring. I usually love shows/movies like Gossip Girls but the show just isnt what the books are. One Tree Hill is my fave show that they have on there and I've read the ratings are starting to slip more.

They should have never cancelled Reba!!

You should give Supernatural another try it's anything but boring. The end of season two came with a vengance and the only thing I can say about it is FUCK it'll blow your ass away

I guess the general consensus is that any network that cancels tv gold like Veronica Mars and replaces it with crappy reality tv deserves this, and I certainly agree. HAHA their new line up failed and failed hard.

To me, The CW (or WB and UPN) has always been such a dull, safe network. It never seems like they take any chances for controversy or anything out of the ordinary. I've never really seen a show on The CW that I've enjoyed that much.

The only controversy I've ever heard was about Everwood, but I always thought that was a boring show.

^It was canceled. Reba would've probably kept doing the show for as long as they kept it on the air.

And the CW was so fucking stupid for canceling it. It was their highest rated show.

The only show on that network I like is The Supernatural.

They need help. Fast.

They shouldn't have canceled Reba and Gilmore Girls!!!

Serves the network right for cancelling some of their most popular shows - like Reba.

I feel similarly, although in my case, it's What I Like About You, that got me to be pissed off at the CW. If someone can feel comfortable admitting that they watch Reba, I can come clean about WILAY. It was my guilty pleasure while it was on. Damn that CW!

OMG, put that show out of its misery (and us out of ours...) !!!

What new comedy series...?

It really does serve them right though. How dare they underpromote and then cancel Veronica Mars!!!

Yes. I'm holding a fucking grudge.

AGREED!

I'm still pissed about that.

The CW didn't cancel Gilmore Girls - either Lauren or Alexis, and we believe it was Alexis, would not sign on for an 8th season and the production company deemed the show wouldn't continue without both stars.

But they did cancel VMars!

IMO CW just needs to know how to market... How are u gonna put brand new shows up against those that have garnered mass appeal...

Put new shows on ur station up against new shows on other stations... Then when they heat up move their timeslots...

Oh Yea... Bring Back Hidden Palms... Even tho Chuck (Dnt remember his real name) left to Smallville... And is hott as ever on their...

According to my sources, Alexis Bledel (Rory Gilmore) was in talks for three movie deals at the middle of production of their seventh season. So she did not sign a contract for an eigth, but shorter season. They did make a move though at the beginning of the seventh season to make Lauren Graham (Lorelai Gilmore) as Producer, which was a tool to keep her for an eigth season. But Lauren stood by her co-star, Alexis, and said, "If she's not doing it, neither am I."

The eighth season of Gilmore Girls was going to be only sixteen episodes, and it would have started off with Lukes and Lorelai's wedding, and by the end of the season her giving birth to another baby.

However a bit of good news, Spoiler Fix did post before removing the Gilmore Page, that Amy Sherman-Palladino, show creator, who was so mad at the series finale, that she is writing a two hour tv movie, 'to give the show a good ending.'

Veronica Mars had terrible ratings through-out the third season. They started out the season strong with the premiere at 4.1/6 (about 6 Million viewers), but by the end of the season, the series finale had a rating of 1.2/3. Which is about 2 Million viewers. But I did hear that the Executive Producer of that show is in talks with FOX network, about continuing the show next year.

If you guys have any more questions let me know, and I'll find it out!

They didn't cancel Glimore it was all Alexis. The problem with the CW is it inherented the WB's fluffy teen reputation and instead of trying to shake it they just let it tarnish people's willinginess to watch good shows (ie Veronica Mars, Supernatural) that happen to involve young attractive leads.

I saw some commerical for One Tree Hill. Although I have not ever seen the show, I was intrigued to see that the words "Boytown" were written in paint across a guy's chest. Maybe it was my imgination or the flashing pics. Anyways, I pretty much has no interest in the CW.
