Dancing with the Stars

Like the other celebrity competition and reality shows,the use of the word "stars" is completely arbitrary and really means very minor celerity,someone famous because they married someone famous,were family of someone famous,or hanger on with someone famous...or someone who did something in the entertainment world a while back and desparately needs a career revival .....you have to be a has been,once was,barely was or an ego without a conscience to be on one of these shows.Not criticizing people for appearing,but being Miss Universe or not having a major hit since Achy Breaky Heart does not a star make,for instance.

Personally, when I first heard the title, I thought they meant "stars" as in the professionals! lol. Some of them are my stars...I would love to dance with THOSE.

What about Kelly Monaco from season 1? She's not a has been. Kelly is currently a front burner character on General Hospital and I consider that to be successful in her career. She's also in the process of filming for a pilot, so it's possible her popularity could expand even further.

As for Billy Ray Cyrus, Achy Breaky Heart wasn't his only single to be a hit.
 
Heather Mills is on there a lot for her charity work, and ABC is making it harder for her. Constantly focusing on her leg when all she is trying to do is dance and inspire all others with such injuries. People are ripping her apart for press protrayal. I don't give a da** what she did before, all that matters is what she is doing now.

And Heather Mills bashers might be interested to know that Paul sent her flowers. Some hatred between them. BIG anger issues. *rolls eyes*
 
My favs are Laila Ali and Heather Mills...I hope they make it all the way to the top! Does anyone know the name of the song that Laila Ali and Maxim danced to for their Mambo routine?
 
Apolo, Leeza, Laila and Joey are my favorites, so far. Clyde was like a fish out of water.
 
Clyde was very rough this week. Heather has danced her way into being one of my favorites. My other faves are Laila, Apollo, and Joey. I will miss Shandi. She was a good dancer, and shouldn't have gone home.
 
I loved Apollo's pulp fiction dance. It may have not been perfect, but it definately deserved higher scores. As usual, the judges were overly critical on the couple that obviously has the most talent, just to give the lesser couples a chance.
 
I've found that the judges this season are NOT judging much at all. Leeza's performance to me was just a bit too...basic, when compared to others. I liked it, but I wasn't getting all excited like the judges were. I felt she could have done a lot better.

But you notice they give almost everyone scores in the same bracket of 4 numbers. Only one or two stray out of it. Monday I believe everyone but Clyde got between 20-24. They are pretty much forfeiting what little difference their scores make when votes are added in and the final scores calculated. They are simply seeing to it the show stays within fanbase voting. Like last season. I know, a lot of people may be angry, but its true. Every vote except Sarah Evans was based on fanbase, otherwise the entire show would have been different. I am almost begging them through the TV that the best dancer wins this season, but the judges are NOT helping it.
 
This season is the 1st time I've tuned in....because I absolutely adore Apolo!!! I think he's doing really well...and looks cute in the practice scenes they show. Is it my imagination or are there sparks between him and his partner (?)...they are really cute together (mind you...I'd be cuter with him...but that's beside the point.)

Maxim is a bit too suave for me...but yeh...nice eye candy. I kinda like Jonathan (Heather's partner)...damn fine ass on him. :sex:
