So I've noticed (a few years ago) a darker pigment (big ring shape) around (in between) my ass and between my thighs. Does anyone know what this is because I would really hate for my partner (if i ever get one) to see it. It basically looks like I didn't wipe good enough but I have and I've tried to scrub it off but it doesn't work. Is anyone having the same problem?

:cry::cry::cry:
!oops!!oops!!oops!
:confused::confused::confused:

The first thing to come to my mind is the discoloration caused by diabetes. It can also appear as you approach boarder line. Many people have the same discoloration around the neck and under their arm pits.

Have you seen a doctor about it? Is it like a discoloration of your skin towards the bottom of the buttcheek. Because I think I have the same thing. From what I heard it's benign, but you can double check with the doctor and go see a dermatologist to see what they can do to make it less prominent.

Is the area between your thighs intensely itchy, because it could be a mild case of tinea cruris.

God I hope its not diabetes. Is there any way to remove the discoloration by any chance?

It's not uncommon for some ethnic groups to have darker pigmented areas around the penis and in the folds of the arms, legs and groin.

However it can be a sign of a fungal infection like candida or tinea. And there is a condition called acanthosis nigricans that occurs in diabetics that results in pigmentation on the underarms and in the folds of the abdomen and groin.

If it bothers you, then see a dermatologist. If it is a normal pigment variation, there are bleaching creams that you can use to lighten the skin.

Anyone know a good OTC antifungal cream? Sorry to but in on the thread but damn its been worrying me what the splotches on my chest are.

I see a lot of young men who have what appears to be vitiligo which in fact it is actually tinea. It's especially noticeable in the summer when they have a tan.

Or they have a ring-like red rash on their butt (that they never see because straight guys don't often check out their butts, I guess)- which is jock itch. Summer seems to be when it gets worse- fungal infections love dark, moist places.

At the pharmacy- usually around the foot care or skin care aisle- you'll find OTC antifungal creams labeled for jock itch or athlete's foot. Wash the area with a selenium dandruff shampoo (e.g. Head & Shoulders or Selsun Blue), dry the area well with clean towel (or a blow dryer) and then apply the antifungal cream. For tinea in skin folds or around the anus, a zinc oxide diaper rash cream like Desitin can be helpful.

If these OTC solutions don't work then see your doctor- you may need to take an oral antifungal to completely clear it up.
