I used to be on a site called Manline or something, the only gay "dating" site I knew.
 
A4A and Craigslist. A4A is easier, I've gotten nowhere on Clist at times.

you know... there actually is a great site (in theory) called lovetastic... sadly there just aren't enough people on where I live... LA!!! whatever. However, NYC seemed to have a much larger network. It might be worth a shot for you.
 
Met my last boyfriend on Okcupid. We were together for almost 6 months. My favorites are gay.com and okcupid. Adam4adam, Craigslist, and Manhunt are almost entirely hookup sites. If you're persistent on gay.com you can meet some decent guys. Haven't really met anyone on DList. Never tried plentyoffish, but i'm convinced. Just made an account :-)
 
never had any lucky with plentyoffish but its pretty much the best free dating site out there.
