Dealing with PTSD

I served in the military years ago for 10 years and I have been dealing with the issues for a while, but they have caught up with me as of late.
If you have had experiences that led to issues with PTSD, no matter what the reasons are or have a dealt with family or friends who have. I would love to hear from you.

You have to maintain access to therapy. Life will continue to hurl triggers at you and it will never stop. Maintenance is key.

I spoke with my P/C doc. first, he referred me to a psychiatrist that confirmed the diagnoses. I went to counseling and was put on Lexapro. You should talk to your doctor and descibe your symptoms and go from there. Your doc. can do some blood tests to rule out any physical problems.

If you are currently in counselling you need to flag this for your therapist.

If you have lapsed, then you need to re-engage asap.
