Pride Media, which owns Advocate and Out magazines seems to be having some trouble.

Even being purchased by the Levin brothers, who also own the seriously troubled High Times, doesn't seem to be saving the publications.

The fact that the brothers also donate to right wing politicians isn't inspiring a lot of confidence that their ownership or management is in the best interests of keeping the publications alive.

Would you miss these publications? Would you invest in them?

My fallout with Pride Media began in the 80's with the emphasis on, "feminization of men".

There was no mistaking the well-planned and coordinated goal of turning the word, "gay", to mean, "women". I recall many issues of the Advocate where the only photos of men were the ads for clothes and clubs.
The last straw for me was the Advocates PBS TV series, "In The Life", where the male host was replaced by a woman, a female production staff replaced the shows former male creators and, finally, all stories were to highlight the roles women play in "gay" culture - to the exclusion of men.

I quit watching the show after their, "Stonewall Celebration" special did not include interviews with any men!

All the media I consume is voluntary, I don't need "gay" media telling me that men don't matter.

The few times i've flicked through them they seemed bland beyond belief, same with Attitude and Gay Times over here.

It seems that most print magazines have gone the way of the do-do. I lost interest when Xtra folded.
