We all know our Mother is one of the most important people in our life, shes our rock, you know you can always talk to her and she'll make everything better.

So dedicate a song to your mother, it may be a song you and your mother share a love for...or it may be one that reminds you of her.

My pick is Dannys Song, by Anne Murray. Each time this ever comes on, my mom and i always sing together...its one of our favorite songs! When i was 7 i danced with her to this song, at my uncles wedding, the memory makes me almost bring a tear to my eye....

I forget who sings this but its that 'Thats What Friends Are For' song, when I was little, my mom recorded on tape of her singing the song to me, its sweet, my moms always been someone I could talk to and my best friend and I love her to death

Dionne Warwick, Elton John, Stevie Wonder, And Gladys Knight Sang that song.

My Mom's favorite song is "Save The Best For Last" - Vanessa Williams. !oops!

For my adored and greatly missed Mum. Thank you for your devotion, caring, unconditional love and total commitment to your family. You taught by example and from you I learned so much about the important things in life; about strength and endurance, about the value of knowledge, about kindness and caring, and most important of all, about love and the meaning of 'family'. Even though you left us over seven years ago, your spirit and strength lives on in me and in the lives of everyone you touched. So much of who I am today is because of you, Mum. You will always be my guardian angel, my friend and my inspiration.

I dedicate this song to you ....

My ma likes Abba and The Carpenters so any song by either of them

OR

The Bee Gees *shudders*

What a drag it is getting old
"Kids are different today,"
I hear ev'ry mother say
Mother needs something today to calm her down
And though she's not really ill
There's a little yellow pill
She goes running for the shelter of a mother's little helper
And it helps her on her way, gets her through her busy day

"Things are different today,"
I hear ev'ry mother say
Cooking fresh food for a husband's just a drag
So she buys an instant cake and she burns her frozen steak
And goes running for the shelter of a mother's little helper
And two help her on her way, get her through her busy day

Doctor please, some more of these
Outside the door, she took four more
What a drag it is getting old

"Men just aren't the same today"
I hear ev'ry mother say
They just don't appreciate that you get tired
They're so hard to satisfy, You can tranquilize your mind
So go running for the shelter of a mother's little helper
And four help you through the night, help to minimize your plight

Doctor please, some more of these
Outside the door, she took four more
What a drag it is getting old

"Life's just much too hard today,"
I hear ev'ry mother say
The pusuit of happiness just seems a bore
And if you take more of those, you will get an overdose
No more running for the shelter of a mother's little helper
They just helped you on your way, through your busy dying day

"Downtown" - Petula Clark.

On my parents' first date, my mother spent a dollar in the jukebox, and played NOTHING but this song. My mother has since said, "Your father didn't leave, or even make fun of me, so I knew he was worth keeping." :)

Rachmaninoff's Prelude in C-Sharp Minor. She loves it.

When Irish Eyes Are Smiling

This was my mother's favorite song. She was proud of her Irish heritage, and also proud that she was related (rather distantly,I think) to the song's composer. One of her last requests was that we sing this song at her funeral. And,yes, we did!
She also loved Bing Crosby:

I miss you, Mom!

Garbage- Stupid Girl. My mom always played FNX in the car on the way to school and art class and whatever when I was little, and Garbage was always a favorite for both of us (she hated "kids" music and the local classic rock stations never played the bands she liked for some reason, so altrock was the way to go). This is the most common song I remember hearing during said second-grade car trips. She loves it and so do I.

There are a couple other songs I could've chosen, buuut both of us are in a Garbage phase lately.
