"Designated Survivor" (2016)

I watched a few episodes then forgot about it/got out of the habit...just missed too much.
but looked like a good show.
Now only thing I could do is download whatever episodes are out there and start from the beginning.

I still can't help thinking of President Jack Bauer
same here

There has to be some dramatic license, so a little suspension of disbelief is fine. I'm wondering if the old president isn't involved, making himself appear indispensable to President Kirkman now as the new Secretary of State... he seems to have been a moderately conservative Texas Republican but seems just TOO helpful not to be involved.

I think he just misses being part of the action. And I liked that twist because it goes back to when it wasn't surprising if ex-presidents went back to Congress or even practicing law.

BTW, having a former president as SecState ought to have an impact on allies and others he visits!

I was thinking that too Sausy, but I am hoping Kulindahr is right. If he is in on it though that would be massive.

I am loving this show.

Loved the season finale! One bad guy killed, another caught -- and Alex's info got through!

And after that speech, the conspirators are going to have a heck of a time getting the country with them.

Well the first season is done. Thoughts?

I personally loved the entire season, except where the show seemed to be wanting to piss off people on the right. Such as saying "Alt-right" in one episode.

I am not sure I entirely trust SOS Moss or the fired general.

I am disappointed Hookstraten didn't get the nomination for VP. Sec. of Ed seems beneath her skills.

The building shown when Kirkman was about address Congress; what was that building suppose to be? It was big enough for Congress.

Also can Tom run for POTUS once or twice? Since he never won election is he allowed two full terms?

If the term he is filling is less than two years -- half a term -- then he can be elected for two terms; if more than two years, it counts as a full term for constitutional purposes, and he can run just once.

I daydream that he'll start a new party, the American Liberty Party, and change the way politics runs. If enough House members from that party got elected to hold the balance of power, it wouldn't be hard then to achieve the same in the Senate.

In connection with this, here's a good read:
