The guy came hobbling into the courtroom wearing a 'brace' on his lower-right leg and a white sneaker on his right foot. (He wore a black shoe on his left foot.) He also had an enormous back supporting belt wrapped around his waist outside of his shirt.

Here's his case. He was facing west (red car), stopped at a red light. The 'defendant' (green car) was driving north and her light was green:

Now, even though her light was green, there was a stopped car in front of her waiting to turn left (blue car) and another approaching and stopped in order to turn left (yellow car).

The lights changed, the yellow and blue car turned left, and the defendant (who couldn't reverse because of traffic behind her) proceeded straight through the intersection and clipped the front-left fender of the plaintiff's car and dented it.

It's not like the lady ran the red light and slammed into him. They had collided from a standing stop in about a car's length. You certainly can't get up enough speed in that short distance.

The guy didn't even see a doctor until the next day and complained of neck, back, and leg pain. He claimed that he had 3 fractured vertebrae in his neck. He found himself a lawyer (he didn't say, but I suspect it was an ambulance chaser) who refused to take his case.

The judge read his medical reports and said there were no signs of injuries. The guy insisted that it was there. She read, "Neck pain. Back pain. Leg pain. It's there because that's what you told them!"

The case was laughable, really, and I can't imagine anyone believing a single word of his testimony. Oh, and he's now on 'Workman's Comp' and, from what he said, he's trying to get on disability.

Yeah, right.

Having been the victim of a foolish courtroom, I'm not surprised.

Of course, my case wasn't that pathetic. I was actually injured and the car damaged beyond repair...but that's a story for another post.

Canadians? He's American, right? People's court is an American show, right? someone reassure me!!!!

I was watching people's court yesterday when a guy sued the woman he hit while driving drunk. This will be his 3rd DUI.

Yes, People's Court is American. RL and I are just kidding around.

I saw that guy yesterday. Three times over the legal driving limit and he said he'd been drinking earlier (on New Year's Eve) and wasn't drunk when the accident happened at around 1:30 AM on New Year's Day. It made me wonder how drunk he was before he passed out.

i make every effort not to watch anything remotely resembling court shows or trashy related stuff ie: jerry springer or the like

There are a few court shows which resemble Jerry Springer, but People's Court isn't one of them. They are serious 'small claims' cases.

The other night, on Judge Judy, there was a rerun of a mother and daughter suing a woman for an Ebay auction purchase. They had the winning bids on 2 cell phones (each over $230). They received photos of the phones and the seller tried to convince Judy that it was clear in the auction that people were bidding on the photos and not the actual phones.

Some people.

I just saw this one. At the end the guy comes WALKING out of the courtroom, he has a back brace on OVER his shirt, then when he was into the hall and then walking away he was LIMPING. FAKER FAKER CON MAN, Maybe that lightning bolt will get him.

I saw this Judge Judy for the second time the other day and I just wanted to slap that smug smile off the defendants face soooooo bad. all I could think was KARMA- I hope it bites you in the butt you CON, SCAMMING piece of trash.

I noticed that, too. It's pretty bad when an ambulance chaser lawyer refuses to take your case. The guy had fraud written all over him.

Judge Judy has been known to send copies of her show to the proper authorities. I'm sure the IRS would be interested in knowing about that lady's sideline auctions.

Man, I wish I could see that one. Sounds like a good laugh.

So does Judge Joe Brown.
