They're just a tad more colorful than they used to be:

Stupid lazy U.S. Treasury. When are they ever going to get around to gussying up the $1 bill?!? I'm tired of this old-timey, one-color crap I have to feed into vending machines. I want bills with more flair, damnit! :-)

Just when I was able to find shoes to match the dollar, they add different colours.

*sigh*

No, I still get them alllll the time at work.

I hate them because while cashhandling, I always have to account for the odd denominations (not that's its a big deal... it's just an additional step).

did you know it was illegal to copy or reproduct money in any way. especially posting a pic of ascan on the internet.

it's interesting that yuou mention the usefulness ** or not ** of the $50 BILL...

you see..... I use them...all the time....

I believe they've become the millenium equivalent of the 90's $20 BILL ....

I mean, in the 90s if you had $20, you could get gas, ice, beer, and marlboros....and package stops wouldn't accept $50s at all...

now, if you buy gas, ice and beer, you're going to drop $40 bucks, and they don't mind giving a "routine" small return from the drawer....

spending a $50 is no prob at all these days...it functions like the $20 did a decade ago...

i never go without a few....and it crowds the wallet a bit less than $20s.....

Surge, maybe it's because you're broke. I know I haven't encountered a 50 in a long while. XD

I had to look it up on the internet. I didn't think it could possibly be real...the odd demonination of 600 made me doubt it very quickly.

Yes, I've just entered my next business cycle, and I got some Fifties at the bank on Thursday. I'm lookin' at three of them right now. They're very much in circulation, yes, but I undrstand that $20's (in the United States) are MORE common than anything else above $1. Is that still true?

I'd actually like to see them stop making the $1 bill, and put $2 bills into wide circulation. Having $2's would probably even allow them to quit making Fives as well. Of course it would help if One Dollar coins were more prevalent than they are here. It seems that all the $1 coins that are minted, are hoarded by collectors. Isn't that one of the WORST POSSIBLE ways to invest money? $1 and $2 coins are prevalent in Canada, so why do our $1 coins vanish?

I agree with the thoughts of the $50 bill gaining more popularity these days; long ago the $20 bill would suffice; but NO longer since the price of items have gone off the chart, especially fuel!

I'm surprised NO one has asked about the $2 bill!

It is still alive and well!

People often will send it in birthday cards and for special times, for most people think the $2 bill is worth more; but NOT, it's still worth $2!!

However, the bills I have, NO longer has Monticello on the reverse; but has the signers of the Declaration of Independence instead...

You can still get the $2 bill, just go to the U.S. bank and ask for it and Oila'! you get it!(*8*) (*8*)

our atm machines give out $50's and $20's

but who uses cash these days anyway?

It just occurred to me, that this thread reminds me of a story I read a few years ago. I mentioned it in a thread a few months ago:

http://justusboys.com/forum/showthread.php?t=117081

I've never known if it's a true story or not, but something in me very much WANTS to believe it actually happened.

Considering WHERE this supposedly happened, this is for you, Luminum!

I think the Swiss have the best looking money in the world. The designs are incredible and they are oriented vertically. The notes are also all different size according to the value, but only the height changes, which makes them easier to grab and neaten up. (Unlike the Pound, the Euro, or the AU$)

Canadian money finally has all the same high-tech stuff as European money, but I find the current series of notes too dark.

the $A only vary the width of the notes
and the height stays the same See

I've had the same two twenties in my wallet for months! I don't know when I last paid cash for something!
