Hey everyone, i was just postin in the what song you playin or what ever thread, and dont see too much metal in there.. how many of you listen to metal like real metal: Devil Driver, OTEP, In Flames?

If you dont, why not and what attracts you to the music you do listen to? Did your tastes in music change when you came out?

For me i grew up listening to classic hair metal, Twisted Sister, Judas Priest, Def Leppard, Whitesnake, ETC.. and it evolved in to heaver music Iron Maiden, Dream Theater, Impellitteri, Coal Chamber, Deadsey, then in college: In Flames, Kittie, Devil Driver, Children of Bodom, Five Finger Death Punch, Dream Evil, Tool etc.
My boyfriend got me into Coldplay.. but other than that my music didnt change since I came out.. weird.. lol my sister thought i was gonna be a lady what ever fan lol but nope lol.. whats your story?

P.s. I played in quite a few metal bands and hardcore bands in high school and college..

Because the music in a lot of metal is too harsh. Though other than the really heavey stuff I can easily listen to metal, but I mostly listen to softer rock music.

No, no my taste in music didn't change when I became gay, I still dislike dance, trance, rnb, garage, house and all that sort of music.

I just thought it was weird my friend Kyle always listened to metal and hardcore and when he came out he was all into that dance and house music and what we now call RnB.. But my bestfriend
was all like your nit gonna quit listening to metal...are you lol. I has always been very interested in music and why people
listen to what they do..

Why would coming out make you like another type of music. That's like admitting you like broccoli suddenly makes you like reading Agatha Christie mystery novels.

Not that my taste in music "changed" but like my sexuality, my taste in music came out also.

No, it's stayed the same. I loved classic 60's, 70's, and 80's rock before, and I love it just as much now. :D

I was simply less concerned that other people could hear me singing along to "Dim All the Lights" by Donna Summer. :)
