District 9

Best film I've seen all year! I loved it! Much different than I had anticipated though!

Not your typical big budget summer fare coming at you from Hollywood. Not likely anyone's heard of the cast...Intense,gripping,smart,thought provoking. No spoilers given but people should see "District 9" and it is clearly not only one of the best films of the year but will become a sci fi classic as it represents the best qualities of that genre.

i thought it was a damn good movie. easily 3 out of 4 and i would recommend it. ..|

ok so i saw the movie last night with my man
he loved it
i on the other hand
i really didnt like it in the least - and as a south african . . . well i felt more than a little insulted when the movie finished. I mean its a great idea but yeah it really was a total let down - a few little laughs but thats about it.

Is it a comedy? That alien looks like the ones on the Simpsons...

I think these big budget films will soon become a thing of the past. With the economy in the tank and Hollywood looking to cut cost, a few of the more profitable films this summer were made for under 50 million.

District 9 cost 30 mil
The Hangover cost 35 mil
The Proposal cost 40 mil

Who knew big budget films were loss leaders, lol.

Loved District 9!!!

It was entertaining, although not quite living up to the full weekend hype I've been hearing. I'd give it 3 out of 4 stars. It borrows from many other science fiction movies that I loved (Cloverfield, Independence Day, Starship Troopers, The Fly, just to name a few). And I suppose the finished product succeeds in giving us a unique spectacle of a movie.

I saw it with my bf, I loved it, was not what i expected, but defiantly good. He didnt like it so much, mostly because the aliens could of fought back but didn't, and not enough fighting in general.

Almost everyone i know thats seen it,say its a good morning, will probable see it this weekend.

Actually I could see the racist part, but you'd really have to be looking for it. In this PC sensitive world, that's not overly difficult for some.

I L.O.V.E.D this movie. Totally awesome.

I was expecting more after hearing ALL the hype after opening day...I felt it moved slow in the begining...

"B-Actors" of course...I agree with a critic that said it's a "revamp" of that old movie and series "Alien Nation"....

Those of you that have not seen it should wait for DVD or HBO...

Saw this a few days ago. Everyone who had seen it kept raving on about how good it was so I was expecting to be let down, but it was really entertaining.

I must see this film, but first I must go to bed (and now, lol)!

Great movie, Just saw it. One of the actors looked a lot like sexy porn stud Axel Ryder.
