Do not install KB951748 if you use ZoneAlarm

Microsoft today issued update KB951748. If you use Zonealarm firewall something in this update causes ZA to block everything. If you suddenly can't connect to anything uninstall this update until somebody can get a fix out. Hopefully in the next few days.

I stopped downloading Microsoft firewall updates long ago. I found them to be too buggy.

Both of my PC's are ok, but both of my parents and my uncles, I had to have them uninstall the update.

Today's info is that the problem affects Windows XP/2000. Vista is not affected. Are you on Vista and they're on XP? Is your ZA up to date? I've also read today that older Zonealarm versions have escaped.

Thats really not a fix, it's just the info or an automatic way to uninstall KB951748

Yes it's a fix. In the middle of the page click the appropriate link for your ZA to download the new version.
