yes it just converts lactic acid into a gas and then back into a liquid again in between your bones. and it doesn't cause arthritis no matter what your mom said

when i can i will.. and it is sooo satisfying.... it feels great ... i dont think it will do any harm

When I went to a chiropractor he used to crack my neck and my back. It felt sooooooooooo good! I can't figure out how to do it on my own though. But I crack fingers, wrist, elbows, knees , ankles, toes. That feels good too.

it feels good when i do it

i guess i'm too tired

Yeah it's safe no harm done just be careful though and not strain yourself trying to crack your neck if doesn't crack anymore.

Cracking my neck always feels good, it releases tenion.

I crack a lot of joints. Elbows, knees, wrists, ankles, spine, neck, toes, and each joint on each finger.

I sound like a maraca once I get started.. The relief after I do my neck is immense though!

Ummm, no. It is the articulation of the vertebrae

You are not allowed to do cervical adjustments in Chiropractic School until the very last...cause it is highly specialized and dangerous.

wow-3 of the replies on here have been from missouri, wonder if thats saying something?

The #2 Chiro School is in St. Louis. I used to go there.

I cannot say in good faith that it is 'safe', but if you don't make yourself hurt, you are probably OK.

I can't help it. I keep cracking my neck. It gets stiff and I twist my head and I hear a cracking sound.

Is it safe to crack your neck?

A chiropractor once told me it wasn't safe. That several people have died from it (because they blocked blood to one of their arteries in the neck area).

Sometimes. Myf riend cracks his spine. His sounds much more satisfying.

Probably nobody does this, but I love it when you cum and you feel the need to crack your neck, and when you do it, it feels soooo good!

I can crack my spine if i lean over backwards on the couch it doesnt hurt and loosens me up

i love to crack my neck but for some reason i can only go left to right.

This morning, I woke up like any other morning. The first thing I did was crack my neck. It has become a force of habit.

This morning, when I cracked my neck, it hurt for the first time.

I'm cracking my neck up to 10 times a day.

I'm more likely causing damage to my neck.

It's become a habit I can't stop.

You are stretching your ligaments more than you should, and if you are using your hands to help "force" your head/neck in bilateral quick jerks it you run a risk of giving yourself a cervical sprain. By hyper-stretching these ligaments which normally keep stability in your cervical region, instead your muscles tighten up to create this stability. Guess what? Muscles get tired, and then tense up. So you feel like "popping" your neck again. It's a bit of a Catch 22. The more you "pop" your neck the more you feel the need to do it.

By itself unless you have another medical condition "popping" your neck isn't detrimental, just don't force your head with your hands. Now, to stop this Catch 22, or as a better alternative, at work once per hour for 3 or 4 minutes do slow, natural stretches. Hold each stretch for 10 to 20 seconds. After two to four weeks your "craving" to pop your neck should be reduced.
