Do you ever call your partner 'baby', 'sweetie', and/or 'honey'?

I only ask this because the gay couples I know don't ever seem too...and I'm kind of disappointed because I think it's so cute when I see a man refer to another man as his 'baby' or his 'sweetie'. Too fricken adorable for words! :luv:

I like to say Babe rather than baby, I think I would say shorter versions of them instead like Hon for honey. I don't think that I would say sweetie though. Maybe like handsome or something though. I am not overly lovey dovey, I like romance but I still act like a normal dude. I do admit that it is cute though to hear that although I probably wouldn't do it that much.

I find "Baby" a little fake, haha. Depends though, coz my friends call me "babes" so I guess it doesn't feel special anymore. In fact, when I was going out with my ex, we made sure that we call each other by a cute but personal name with each got from the other. People found that cute too... Haha.

All kinds of this stuff and made up new ones on the spur of the moment.

Yeah...all of those and many more...but usually it is private. Maybe the couples you know are the same?

I call mine hon, honey or honey buns all the time. I throw in a baby once in awhile.

Oh my god reading all of these are so adorable I'm just picturing a bunch of gay couples from college kids to old guys using these and its adorable

Oh yes! My ex used to call me every affectionate name under the sun, honey, sweetheart, baby, babe, doll, dear, gorgeous, beautiful... Even Barbie! Haha! Note: He was a real guy's guy with a deep set voice, too :-)

"Yo, sugar! I've got a sweet treat for you ;)" hahaha awww I kinda miss him...(!!)

Of course! But there's a cultural thing happening: Mediterranean, Black and other matriartchal cultures are brought up with words lie, "bambino (baby), honey, precious," and other endearments. Patriarchal cultures (and assuming you were brought up in one), don't. It's all very formal and "polite" as though emotional endearments aren't manly. PLEASE! I call my guy, baby, honey and My Petit Prince. The idea of having a relationship without romance means somebody is one cool character and uncomfortable about expressing Loving expressions. Or maybe it's that I lived in San Francisco for 28 years, and put my arm around my boyfriend, held his hand in public, kissed him in public and called him honey/baby/babe/sweetheart and anything else that came straight out of my heart and then out of my mouth.

Hate those mushy ones personally.

He's my "beast", "monster", "devil", "mammal", "male man", "awesome human", "kind creature", "friendly friend", "loving lover" and "sexual penis bearer" among many others.

Hey, people are different. :)

I want to call "him" all the gooey tender words that come to mind. I just hope he likes to hear them and say them back.
