I've been meaning to post this for a month now.

Two months ago, I bought a large bottle of Dawn dishwashing liquid. I try to keep one bottle ahead, so I don't run out. And, I have an undercounter-mounted bottle that can pump in, but I always forget about it. It's slow, and I don't like hitting it multiple times.

So, I noticed the Dawn was going flat almost immediately, even when I wasn't washing anything greasy. By chance I bought another bottle, a small one, I needed at work, and when I used it at home, the suds lasted forever, like the Dawn reputation.

My guess is that the big bottle is counterfeit. I know I bought it at a Dollar General, but not which one. I'm going to call P&G and ask if there is a counterfeit maker using their name (illegally).

Crazy?

Do you think you have found similar in some other product?

Besides the container of Kreb in the fridge?

And Cheez Wiz?

I don't think so but it wouldn't surprise me if I did.

Actually I do consider any GMO-sourced food to be counterfeit.

I think it's more likely that companies like P&G produce lower grade versions of their products for 'budget' vendors like the 'dollar stores'.

I do read a lot of Amazon customer accusations of counterfeit products coming from China. But, that is a little more believable given the international fly-by-night vendors Amazon hosts.

I really don't think American chain-stores could get away with selling any American name brand items without those American Companies' blessings. Not on American soil. I'm sure they are all in cahoots with these 'budget price' lower grade product scams.

Besides all this, though, we really can't trust any name brands anymore. Sizes and ingredients are forever changing.
