Do you have road rage?

Not in the sense of doing stupid things like swerving or cutting people up, nor do I stop the car looking for a fight, but I do curse the idiots concerned as I go on my way.
That is exactly me too. I can see myself muttering "dumbshit" towards the car.

I am that guy who might go 5 mph under the speed lit in the slow lane. If we do the math going 5 under loses us little time in a half hour drive. Most folks seem to thiink it's fine to go 5 over the limit, so in their minds I am going 10 under. Those who get angry and pass me are waiting for me at the next red light.

I've been known to feel road rage "flashes" that last for perhaps a second, or even less. As far as feeling even ten seconds of road rage, I'm not even sure which DECADE it was when I last experienced that.

FRUSTRATION, yes. Not the same thing as rage. I definitely felt that when I was stuck in a traffic jam for over four hours in 2016, which was STUCK and not moving anywhere - at all. I wasn't feeling angry at anybody or anyTHING. I knew that whatever was happening, there were people somewhere working on it to get it cleared away and for traffic to resume.

I read somewhere, at least twice (from different sources), that here in the USA, at any moment in time, about one-half of people "behind the wheel" are angry. I can't relate.

I can't even relate when I realize that probably at least 30% of people are almost constantly angry about politics. It's not all Republicans, either. Are so many people angry now because they have their radios tuned to hate and continuous negativity?

The extent of my "rage" is to quietly, and perhaps even somewhat mellow-y, privately say "please get off your phone" or something. I'm guessing that's the usual reason for people sitting through 3/4 of a green traffic light cycle, etc.

I’m officially an old man, driving in the right lane, well over the speed limit, but staying right and middle mindin my own bees wax.
