Do you prefer the world around you in your younger years or these days?

I think that I have mentioned that while we love our nephew and neice and their children, we don't particularly like our great nephews.

Have pity on them.

Since civilization began, older generations have felt disdain for the younger ones. Be it jealousy of youth or the crushing realization that the world that made you who you are is rapidly ebbing away, it helps to realize that these little shits have been dealt a really bad hand. It must be awful to grow up in a culture spoiled by late stage capitalism and to have all the rites of your youthhood channeled through some network or server and never being able to put your finger on why you feel so empty and unfulfilled. Now they're starting to drop dead of cancer at age 30, which is probably for the best because God knows what things will be like in 30-50 years (I suspect he may not, but if Trump wins, you can make that 3-5 years). They can blame my boomer ass all they want for their problems but the mutant generation that will follow them into their old age will do the exact same thing to them.
