I see. You're so confusing, telly! I was answering the question in the thread title...

I think the perceived simplicity of old songs is sometimes just good craftsmanship, often a simple sounding song can actually be quite complex in its construction and quite difficult to sing.

Anyway, I like this song:

I guess if you want to listen to what today would be pop songs, i.e. Taylor Swift, Disney kids and hell if I know what else. Not all old songs were like that though for instance gangster rap was invented in the 1920's. Try looking that up
