I also don't have food delivered. I want to eat it while hot and fresh. So I alway eat at the food place. The exception would be getting hot foods from the grocery store deli...I'll eat it in the car on the drive home if it is finger food.
 
If customers are responsible for paying the wages of delivery people, customers should have a say in the hiring and firing of these people as well.

Some of those customers will use that say in the hiring and firing to express their predudice against anyone who is not of the correct religion or colour or sexuality.

If customers are responsible for paying the giant salaries of executive people (they are), customers should have a say in the hiring and firing of these people as well.
That I would agree with and thank you for, but it would be off topic.
Senior management never do customer facing work so they never have to deal with people who are on their own turf. Being on their own premises makes bad customers worse. I was doing maintainance rather than delivery but the same thing applies, "I am on my turf" so I can be as rude, as threatening, as malicious as I want. It's not the 99 nice customers that are the problem, it's the one piece of shit who tries to get you (ie me) fired.
