So what are the viewers opinion on the series thus far.

I'm enjoying Peter Capaldi so far.

I will highlight my other thoughts later, once and if anyone responds that is. :D

I'm watching it and trying to like it, but it's no Matt Smith. I miss Matt.

Well spooky (P.S. I still LOVE your avatar pic, it's one of my favourite chest/torso pics)

Sometimes I think this new Doctor's character comes across as too obnoxious and unlikeable.

Case in point, that story set in the school, when Clara's boyfriend discovered everything - the Doctor just appeared mean-spirited and nasty that whole episode.

Oh and the next episode about the Moon being an egg hatching was just stupid and silly - I wish they'd come up with more mature and sensible drama-oriented plotlines, instead of cartoonish antics all the time.

I much preferred the original series (1963-1989) and always will.

I'm enjoying his performance far more than i'm enjoying the ******

The latest episode was dullsville again, Frank Skinner you cannot act, stop trying.

Stardreamer:
I think very few people liked Colin Baker's Doctor. I've only seen a few episodes of him way back when PBS used to play Doctor Who.

borg:
You know I like Matt as an actor but I couldn't really get into his Doctor. The hand flapping and general slapstickiness of his mannerisms were too distracting (Jack Sparrow comes to mind). I also felt that he was underwritten, too much attention to the Amy-River Song Saga. Matt's a cutie though.

braex: I don't blame you, the show feels tired despite the improved and polished production values.

ChickenGuy:

Thanks, I love that Colt model.
Despite his sometimes nastiness, I sort of enjoyed it at the beginning.
Now, it's like he's written that way just to be different from the previous incarnations which is a silly convention anyway.
If they aren't careful, it's going to drive away many viewers if it hasn't already.

Kill the Moon is a polarising episode. Clara's character this season has been all over the place.
The most recent episode with the mummy and the space train just pulled a complete 360 on her character in the last 2-5 minutes, it gave me whiplash.

Additionally, the guest stars this season have all had thankless roles. Probably because the Doctor doesn't give a shit about them.

Cormac135:
To be fair, I kind of enjoyed the beginning of the series.
I especially enjoyed the smack that Clara gave to the Doctor in the episode with the Dalek.
You are right though, there's a sense of fatigue with the writing. Its stopped being exciting, more like going through the paces.

Anyway, I do hope that it improves.
I still like Capaldi as the 12th Doctor but his schtick is getting tiresome at this point.
As for Clara... well I think her story ended last season when she jumped into the Doctor's time stream.

I kind of agree that capaldi's doctor does seem a bit too unlikeable but I'm sticking with it. I just wish Clara was treated better

Initially I didn't like the Peter Capaldi version of the Doctor - but he is growing on me surprisingly quickly. He IS a very good actor with just enough difference of temperament to be a character I can see myself enjoying. I shall keep watching...

I'll start watching again when the BBC cast François Sagat as the new Doctor Who companion or at least as a guest star playing an alien from a planet where everybody wears high heals. Capaldi does show some promise, but I'm not going to sit througha whole season just to see if they can make something better than the dreadful first and second episode.

I for one am enjoying the season thoroughly. I love how much of a jerk Twelve is lol. The stories are alot better and Clara seems a better suited companion here than she did for Eleven.

Francois doesn't need to be a Doctor to command any attention

Since you're in the zone of a porn Doctor Who, I once put together a mock image of Matt Hughes aka Danny Dong as the Doctor with his giant wang hanging out. Wouldn't you just love to travel through time and space fucking around with Matt as the Doc. I know I would. :)

That would be amazing. Imagine his tagline... "It's bigger on the inside...of your anus"

LOL :D
Sadly, not going to happen though. Danny is happily porking those beaves in beave land.

OT: Those Axel Braun parodies are stupid... their parodies in name only; just to get away with mock-busting popular films.

13 needs to be the way he is as there has never been anyone like him PS I'm glossing over the Master lol. He is essentially a new one of 12 more regenerations. He has all the memories of those before him but he still is something new. Episodes have been up and down for me but they have upped the creepy level this series I must say. Hate, Hate, Hate Danny!!! Hope Clara doesn't go she and 13 are better together than her and 12.

13? Do you mean 12? I tend to ignore all the faux regeneration stuff and just count the itinerations of doctors.

Also I love danny! He's cute and sweet. I agree that I hope Clara and 12 stick together though, just not as gooey lovers

Nope he was referred to as the thirteenth version in Day of the Doctor.
The War Doctor was the 9th regeneration making Chris Eccelston 10, David Tennant 11 and Matt Smith 12. Therefore he is the 13th Doctor. Nah cannot have Danny, I like having those characters like Micky, Jackie etc but Danny is just a no, kind of like Martha's Ma.

I'm beginning to wonder if he is the new series Colin Baker, Colin tried to different approach towards developing the Doctor with a character that was uppity and full of himself, perhaps a throwback tribute to William Hartnell's Doctor who played the crotchety but eventually lovable old man quite well, and then grow and develop over time to a likable character. Unfortunately it didn't work and he didn't have time to make it work. I fear Capaldi is going to be the same, instead of growing on the audience he just going to annoy them to the point that he is replaced.

I just started watching again last night with Listen, I hope it starts getting better soon.

I'm not really liking Clara's BF "Pink". He's too much like a recap of Rose's BF Mikey with his portrayal of jealousy over the Doctor.
