Does anyone know how to use Tripod.Com?

I'm trying to build a website using tripod's SITE BUILDER and its been years since I played around with this kind of thing. I remember building a page was so much easier, now tripod is SOO difficult to use and maneuver. Does anyone have current experience with tripod.com?

If you've already created a website on your own computer and want to upload it to a webserver, zip it up and you can use the file manager in tripod.com to upload your site. It automatically unzips it and hey presto, your site is uploaded.

Geocities wanted paid subscription, but no one wanted to pay, it then folded, with only those who did being able to keep their 'sites'.

Before it all went tits up, there were people who thought 'what a shame to loose all that work' and promptly copied the sites and archived it. All the archived stuff is now in either reocities.com or oocities.com now. I don't think any of the 'webmasters' can access them like they used to.
