the original Queer as Folk (UK)?

Anyone a fan? I know Little Finger is in it.\:/

I saw a few episodes years ago and liked it then, but I can't remember a single thing about it.

YES! It was much better than the US version.

I did not watch the final US season and only a few episodes of the 2nd to last season before that.

I hate U.S. remakes generally.

Ok, one ep in I'm like, how tf have I not seen this? Making me miss the 90s over here.:alien:

Hunnam lips anyone?

The confessional room gimmick that all the reality shows adopted.

^^^I agree. I liked the British version of QAF alot too. I was worried a bit when they were talking about a US version of Are You Being Served? but thankfully the idea did not become a reality. The British version is brilliant and perfect - no one can compete with it.

They're hecka casual about their friend's death. Unfeeling pricks. They could be JUB'ers.

That's a true Manchesta baby, can sleep through anything.

That's like a modern variety show, right?

Oh ha! That's probably one of the Britcoms my grandparents would watch each week in their den.

If they were alive I could show them Queer as Folk.

What's a facist?

Cheeky tart. I'm trying to make fun of the spelling.... Bellend.

(Am I doing the cursing right?)(I'm being indoctrinated by british TV.)

What's a facist?

It´s a European term, meaning "everyone who disagrees with us".

My late lover and I hated the protagonists, but the characters were realistic and the issues tackled in the show were true to life.

It´s a good show, that portrays homosexual men from that era accurately, but the main characters are mostly quite unlikeable.

Have you ever watched Shameless? I have to say both the US and British version were enjoyable

Oh dear, I was hoping they'd grow and evolve and become more likable.

What does everyone think of the shaggin' and snoggin' on the show? Sometimes it's more like they're attacking each other.

I have it on DVD. I wouldn't have watched it several times if I didn't enjoy it.

Same here. I saw some of the US version and was unimpressed
But then, shows that are remade for a US audience are not usually a patch on the original UK version

I don't watch TV, so I don't know. But what Harke said about realism and unlikable main characters makes me interested. Better than the fairy tales led by Mary Sue characters whose actors were obviously hired for their (supposed) good looks rather than their acting abilities.

I feel like I did see a bit of it. Not sure it's my thing. For reference, I liked Sex Education, Fleabag, Black Mirror, the Mighty Boosh guys, Garth Marenghi's Darkplace, The It Crowd (more the early seasons), Spaced, Ab Fab, Black Books...That one with the werewolf... There are some gritty detective type ones I've liked. Trying to think of the titles. Broadchurch was mighty grim. Jeepers.

I'll admit, Little Finger's got some bedroom eyes.

But now they're conspiring to get someone deported? This might be just nasty enough for Charon.:##:
