door saver

Don't have a pantry like that everything is in our cabinets above and below the counter!

Too much waisted space.

Build the main/inside shelves full out/fill the space.

Then you won't have to worry about the extra weight pulling on the door/hinges, as well.

The over the door organizer was handy when I lived in a studio apartment with a small bathroom.

I am not sure that full depth shelves are the solution.

We have an ingredients pantry (room) with 8 inch shelves and cupboards for ingredients, a pots and pans pantry (scullery) for all the P&P and cookware/appliances we only use on an irregular basis and a china/glassware pantry for all the (wait for it) china and glassware/silver/etc. that we only use for larger dinners.

I like the idea of of shelves designed for the cookware and shallower shelves for ingredients if you have a closet or even cupboards where this can be designed in. Just use more or heavier hinges...or continuous hinges.

I've seen a few of these, and every one of them had to be opened wide just to get past all the dangling crap and the bins without getting torn clothes and/or skin. LOL I really hate such clutter.

And those wimpy models don't hold up long. They usually get overloaded and bent up from getting knocked and yanked about.

My dad built a can pantry into the wall of the kitchen for my mom. He opened up between two studs in a small section of kitchen wall, put in shelves and made a door for it. It works perfectly
